What board should i get for general dh and free ride,..........

Not.

I have a gammmy left foot.

So i am trying to learn to push mongo not normal, so my sore foot is on the board not pounding the road all the time.

Its like doing something left handed

Here what i have been trying.

Elongated feft foot balance, and doing little one legged squats as i balance.

Obviously actually pushing mongo, (slowly getting better)

I have a round wobble board that i plan to start on, and i have a home made indo board but i havent tried it yet for the one leg thing.

I have been even writing on the whiteboard at work left handed here n there. Kids say i should go left handed more often cause its neater??????

So i am trying to train the left leg and the brain to do things left handed???????

Any hints for the indo board?

Or pushing switch in general..

I'd also ask about sliding swtch aswell but....... i did do a search on that one and found a bit of stuff on the site already.

cheers

I wanna switch slide and ride like gabe.......(old man dreaming)

Indo Board - Ride it every day and practice holding it as still as possible and rolling smoothly from one foot to the other. Once you master those two you can start getting a bit more technical. Wear a helmet.

Switch Pushing - The best way to learn to push in switch is go out and ONLY push in switch until you get it. It will suck for the first few days but is well worth it. Also try and practise getting a flow going from switch too regular. Push three times in regular, three times in switch, three times in reg..... you get the idea.

Switch slides are all about your shoulders, practice carving in switch and keeping your weight up on your front foot. Go out and slide in the wet too, and remember SHOULDERS ARE EVERYTHING!!!

THE ONLY WAY TO RIDE GOOD IN SWITCH IS TO GO OUT AND RIDE IN SWITCH!

rolling from one foot to the other, do you mean one foot on the board at a time???

And thaks bro.

Always where a helmet even riding to work at a school, exposing the groms to longboards and helmets.

I would have never even contemplated doing a switch toe-side and one day i just tried it. AND IT WORKED. I was stoked.

Sure it did caspian...

on his topmount evo

i didnt believe it either... but then he did one.

i find pushing mongo up hills helps as you dont gain much speed
when you're just standing around, practice balancing on your other foot

like Gabe said, there is only one way to learn how to do something and that is 'do it'. it's feels impossible at first, just like the first time you tried to do a slide or a ollie or whatever, you'll get it.

also the indoboard for sure... can you hang-ten? then try to hang-five, just balancing on one foot.

Then hang 5 and squat while you hold the toe of your fully extended leg, try and hold that one for 30 seconds

Thanks heaps fellas.

gabe been doing simila things on the wobble board. Round disc with a central balance ppoint but havent tried to hold th toe yet. still havent got the indo out but been tucking on th ewobble board. pretty hard.

I pushed the full 2.5 ks to work mongo today so im getting the hang of it. still feels ,, well mongo but getting a good 5 puishes in with out gumbying it toooooo much. every now and then chucking in aa normal one to remind myself what im aiming for.

Love my push to work, little hill in the middle of around 500 m on a newly hot mixed path. Only get to like 45 but just nice in the morning to cruise it, nice little tuck feeling the contours of the path, makes the trip to work MUCH better than driving.
