24 hours at Ruapuna
So We have booked Powerbuilt Raceway at Ruapuna Park here in christchurch for 24 hours.
Sunday 25th September.
All skaters (long, short, inline, quad, derby) are invited to come along and have a skate.
Solo, team, 10km or 100. Cruising or setting a record. We have the track for 24hours so let's make good use of it.
Still in the early stages of planning.
Sponsors are needed. Water, useful foods, skate kit that can be raffled, spot prizes for fancy dress or furthest travelled.

Sounds like a great idea!
I will be interested in seeing how it goes.One of the longboarders in the ville had a similar idea using part of the townsville 400 track but wasn't sure about it so never went down that path.

Haggy's 24hrs of Hell
You could blog about it mate, get apple to sponsor you with an iphone and you could tweet the whole distance.
- 35min: just puked up my oporto chicken burger
- 54mins: Just drank my 9th bottle of poweraide, only 2 bottles left, must conserve poweraide.
- 76mins: Why is this phone asking me to update itunes account?
- 87mins: Just got call from girlfriend, need to be home by thursday night for drinks at Kuleto's or don't bother coming home.
- 104mins: Bung knee is starting to cave in, must maintain focus only 1336mins to go....

Haggy, would be great to have you come visit.
I tell you this, i was pretty much hallucinating after the 150 miler we did in the uk. This is going to be even beter cos there will be roller derby girls skating!!

Lots of people will just be coming along during daylight hours just to skate. some roller derby girls are talking about relaying the whole 24 hours. And some want to go as far as they can.
Current nz record is something like 132 miles.

All the facilities wee need. Camping, indoor sleeping, burgervan and toilets.
Smooth 3km loop.
Stoked.
