Event Description

found a sweet bike path, very grom friendly hill, 2 man heats. What more can i say? Should be a fun day. Will get the rest of the crew to help out with track marshaling and general radness.

THIS SHOULD BE CONSIDERED A BEGINNERS RACE.

If your a grom in the sydney (or greater sydney) area and what a good introduction to racing and mellow downhill this is the day for you! Speeds would struggle to break 50km/h, the hill is a pretty straight bike path with slight bends and a full mellow run-out.

I am trying to make it work with school holidays, if the date is no good for kids going back to school let me know.

Meeting place will be at the end of Small St at the round-a-bout at the end of the road, next to Bicentennial Reserve under the over-pass. If  you use Google maps you will find it.

THIS IS A FREE EVENT! yeeewww! so grommets all you need money for is a bus/train ticket to get your asses there. Will have some rad giveaways and prizes and what not (dont expect too much) but there will be some cool stuff.

speaking of protective gear, what's the deal? half shell and gloves, or leathers etc.?

Tim, probably fine for you to do, but i and im sure others will stress this. protective gear is a big deal, if you're gonna show up on the day without it you'd best ask around now to see if someone can lend you a lid  other bits.

Im a solo longboarder from the Central Coast with little experience & own no protective gear @ the moment. I have a luch Longboard 38 Inch Slide which I bought from England in 06. I love the sport & love the rush & want to get serious about it. Is this an easy event for an amature downhiller to start on? Ive done a few hills around the Central Coast & Muswellbrook & probably hit around 30 to 40kph.

Probably get things underway by about 9.30 or 10.00am. I will Be at the spot by that time and there will be other waiting at the Hop Shop for those who need help getting there. If you will be going to the shop first you need to be there by 9.00 am to ensure you get to the spot on time, the boys will be leaving when they feel like enough have shown up (probably around 9.00ish or 9.15)

Bruce, are we able to bust out the BBQ?

NOTE: For you guys who are out of area, the site is a reasonably short roll from the HopShop ( a couple of easy k's). If anyone is coming by train maybe you should meet up at the Hopkin Skate Shop and do a convoy to the event. If you are driving, there is ample parking behind the Willoughby Leisure Centre in the carpark. If there is netball on - there will be no parking at all.
