Event Description
WE'RE BACK FOR A BIG LONG WEEKEND BASH!
What is it
The National Capital Slalom Championships will be run by the guys at CROSS and is happening at:
- Mt Stromlo on September 29, and
- Ainslie Ditch on September 30, 2012.
Format
Head to Head Hybrid slalom at Stromlo with a mixture of single race double elimination and duel race single elimination. The ditch slalom will be done on a Time-trial jam format.
The Ditch
Ditch slalom with wicked acid drops and teeth of doom
Location
The Ditch slalom will be at the famous teeth of doom at Ainslie Drains. The head to Head slalom will on the Mt Stromlo criterium track at Stromlo Forest Park
Categories
Everybody will race in the Opens but prizes will be given for Juniors, Womans and over 50s according to how they place in the opens
Registration
Rider fee is $25 for Stromlo, $10 for Ainslie or $30 for both. Registration on the day will cost $5 more per event.
Safety Requirements
- Mandatory - Helmet
- Recommended - Gloves and pads
Accommodation
The best place to stay is the Statesman Hotel in Curtin which is located a short ride to each event. Other shenanigans will happen at the Skatesman across the weekend.

Just heard back from the Statesman Hotel, they are all good for our dinner/preso/raffle, but they did warn that Floriade is on from mid September to mid October so it's a good idea to get in soon if you're booking to stay there.

I like switch slalom lol. Seriously though, bring old stuff if you want but other than the proper slalom we have settled on the 100 cone as the fun event. The old stuff works well on the 100 cone :) If there was a category for old stuff I would say reissues wouldn't count :D

I want a "future" category, where we all ride gear from the future.
Seriously, I don't understand the attraction of using gear from the past. If you wanna have novelty events I vote for "switch slalom", where everybody has to ride switch.

Is there a retro category race on the weekend , and do reissue count or dose it need to be old stock
Will be bringin some old stuff , so if you have some ,bring it as well
