Event Description

downhill much like maryhill, a 65-70km/h run down the eroded mountain side leading in to Peru's most prized beach and surfing area, an amazing run, its hot and we will be riding moto taxis to the top for about 50c. im not expecting the best riders to turn up but more like any rider in the north, this is an exercise to bring out the hidden boarders who dont have the chance to travel to lima and dont have to many other riders around,, its a gnar road if you ride it fast, if are learning theres no better place, like Kiera is to SDM, Mancora should be for north Peruvians

no prize money
no rules
no cops
just total gnar and fun with the boys
and party at the lodge for dinner.........

dude it was an exersise to get the peruvians up the coast and on to new hills,
they all pussed out and me and maga rode the most amazing, sticky, fast, clean, no breaking 10km run for hours, was fucking brilliant, had to hire a moto taxi, its like a moto bike with 3 seats at the back, it took 20min to get to the top and just as long to get down,

my bro hired a 200cc moto and did sdome follow cam work while i just knuckled down and worked on getting rid of my poo man stance and railing corners apex to apex, like long leftys followed by double hairpins and long rights back out, working on a Dessert Sessions Video now at nights, should be ready in the fortnight,

at the base of El Alto ( thats the rad name of the hill aready) was a town with veins of the most gnar ditches ive ever ridden.not hard cause i havent done it for years any way it had tunnels bridges, pipe lines and broken bottles..

Mancora El Alto is the best hill i have ridden over in peru and was so calm and fast, no super gnar, just get your head screwed on and rail the mother fucker,

i was pissed that the guys here talk about opening up the sceen and finding new hills , you know they want peru on the IGSA tour, or S.A tour, but im the only one putting money down for bus trips and hire cars and drivers, based on google map info to find new runs and tell more ppl about our sport,

i had to have a rant,

so we hit the town after the first day skate and got talking to locals, it was hard to explain the sport at first, the luge stigma is still global to gravity sports, but the guys seem stoked that this stuff was going on near there town,

all would have taken was a couple of the serrious riders over here to come up and spread the stoke with there fellow country man and i would be hopeful of this sport rising in the future, but given such a blatent opportunity to ride what i recon is there best hill and spread the stoke of speed boarding to the north of there country and no one came though..

so maybe i should have put more effort in to organising shit but fuck, theres a hill, its gnar, heres a date and time, if you want to skate, then fuck come skate.

yadda yadda yadda

it was the best week of life to date, no shit, it was fucking paradise, a bottle of vodka each night and hotel room above the waves, a fucking rad day skating solo, and best friends to chill with,
