Hey Matti, I would say a bus to the city(Southern Cross) then a train to Belgrave then the 663 bus from Belgrave to Lilydale, hopping of at Monbulk

whats the best way to get there from the airport?

After a number of requests we have relaxed the safety requirements for the downhill race on Sunday. Leathers are now strongly recommended but kevlar jeans and a thick jumper/jacket with knee and elbow pads will be ok, as long as theres no skin showing. Full face helmets and slide gloves are still required. A safety inspection will be conducted on your safety gear and board when you hand in the event waiver on the day so get registering.

Dan, only raw run I've seen is facing backwards http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s4-l0hFtlmM&feature=youtu.be , apart from the luge video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SVpOrA6lUoE that has a couple of runs.

We'll be making an announcement about the leathers on Monday

For grommet up here the guys have often had a no skin showing rule at races. Making kids wear a minimum of knee pads, jeans and thick jumped of jacket. You can go to vinnies and get some pretty thick gear. But if first aides won't budge then that's just to bad. This is racing, get the gear now or wait till you can, the scene isn't about to die out in a hurry.

I get that if your serious about racing, get some leather which I plan to do this Christmas but other kids might not have enough cash to do so.
Maybe you guys could offer some sort of leather suit borrowing system or somthing if not this year, next year.

Evan I know that leathers do cost a bit but if your serious about racing you'll need some eventually. If this event goes well we'll be moving to a bigger hill next year and hopefully having more races. Also it wasn't just the big crash last year that made the the first aiders not happy, it was more the loss of skin from everyone else.
