I think the way to tackle corkscrew on a stand up board would be foot breaking on most of the top section with two of the corners being sharp enough for pre-drifting. At the top section of corkscrew you don’t want to fuck up because on the right hand side there is a massive drop.
Before the hairpins I think it will be impossible to do all ya slowing down only with drifts and as you will be going like 70+ (Duff on his luge gets 80+). Foot break until 15-20m before corner and then get ready to sacrifice some urethane with some huge drift’s for the next four hairpins.
The two way radio idea is sick and is a must if you are going to do stand up down that mad road
PS My brother has only been buttboarding for like 2 months now and 1 month on a proper buttboard (he use to use and normal skate board…lol).
It was on a buttboard and he is a mad motherfucker as some of the Adelaide DH guys that we ride with will tell ya, when he first did Eagle on the hill he did not think much of it as it did not seem fast for him and he wanted to hit it from the top with out leathers
yeah it seems if you wanna footbreak down that hill your gonna need to be prepared to sacrifice your shoes... best way to tackle it seems to be just balls out n no breaks till the gnar corners. When i come down there we should get one dude at the bottom of the hill with a 2-way radio to stop cars coming up so we can go commando-style down that bitch full throttle
My brother has melted 2 pairs of shoes going down corkscrew 3 times. First were his skate shoes which lasted a total of one run and then his old school shoes which have a lot of meat on them lasted 2 runs. I’ve done some sliding on the first hairpin but you accelerate so fast it not funny.
Yeah Jacko your right the corners are pretty tight and the wide angle lens makes them look a lot bigger than they actually are. Wheels were screwed and had no grip but you can take the top no brakes apart from one corner, oh and the hairpins.
This hill on a speed board is most certainly not for the amateur!
