Hey Duff and Jacko, I'd have to agree with you guys on the wide angle lenses making tight corners as though they're really wide and easy when they're actually not. I have filmed the Wang Kelian road using a narrow angle lens using an old helmet cam and when I sit up take the corners, I can't get the full view of the turn just because I'm still constantly turning. Now I'm using a Vio POV 1.5 which has a 110 degree wide angle lens so it's probably not as illusive as the GoPro.

Duff, that camera angle you have is similar to the one on the cams that were used in the X-Games!

yeah, videos are always very misleading. you can never get a good perspective of a hill through a video.
still, those ones are gnarly. i think i've seen a few from previous years and I've always thought it looked insane.

never trust videos, especially when they are shot with a 170degree wide-angle lense... that corner caused a lot of carnage and the footage does it no justice. It looks piss easy coz they make it look piss easy

The 1st vid makes that corner look very tight but then in the 2nd even though you can tell they are going shit fast it looks piss easy for them to take

check out this race they had in Canada, the Shawnigan Shredder...
http://www.unkle.ca/cgi-bin/view?type=article&id=317
video: http://www.new.facebook.com/ext/share.php?sid=82086806484&h=lsd...
check out 1.20 on that video, they are coming into that corner at around 80-90k's an hour... no foot breaks quick speed checks.
Here is that same heat from Andrew Chapman http://www.new.facebook.com/video/video.php?v=71360314075&ref=mf (he had his helmet cam on while racing) and you can see they are macking down that straight at around 100k's then coming into that corner, speed checking and railing it...
It goes to show what is capable on a longboard, all it takes is commitment and skill. I think you get to a certain speed and footbreaking cant be performed, and you will need to speed check to hold your line and stability
