While travelling and documenting downhill skateboarding, I have taken many thousands of images. I love video about as much as I love pictures. So when I realized I could combine the two, I was excited to start this project.
In this video, I combine many images taken of internationally renowned downhill skateboarders at Maryhill Loops Rd in Washington with a timelapse run down one of California's greatest roads, GMR. For the filming of that sequence at dusk, I held the trigger of my camera down while riding a buttboard, a skateboard made for riding on your butt. The two riders are my good friends Billy Meiners and Robert James McKendry III.
heres a road that will make your nuts shrink to the size of peas.... Tuna Canyon Rd in Malibu... one lane, one way downhill, super super super gnar... Solid rocks on one side sheer cliff on the other with no barrier, super steep and windy
