you know those rubber stoppers that go behind door handels to stop it smashing the wall.... strips of 4 at bunnings for a few bucks.

a make shift toe stop, wouldn't like to fall on it though, looks painful.

and that nose guard looks like a good idea, did you just use quick grip to stick it?
