The Sultans of Steeze is for the discerning, experienced old school skater who was riding back in the day. If you are wanting to get back into it with guys and girls your age then lets ride. Over 40's. Hey Groms, get your mum or dad involved.

My mate Owen and I met you in Hopkins last Sunday. Just wondering how the group was coming along and if you have a session planned? I'm keen to get my skate on!
Cheers
John

Comment by Mic Longhurst on November 2, 2011 at 9:18 Peta has convinced me to bring her up for the Maidens day on Nov 27. I assume you guys will be there.... We can go play elsewhere if they won't let us skate..
I put a post up on the Canberra forum to see if any other chicks want a lift up...

Skate with me when you can....Belle and I, with Evie and Astrid hadd a great run through Sydney on Saturday, started by riding over the Sydney Harbour Bridge, past the Observatory, the Rocks, did a bit of the Bus Lane in George Street, Martin Place, stopped in at Tiffanys with skateys, helmets and gloves. Up to Hyde Park Barracks, then down Art Gallery Road before stopping for a look see at the Art Gallery. Mrs Macquaries Chair, Botanic Gardens, Opera House then Walsh Bay - it was a great ride. I am also skating to work. Business Suit, Computer bag and helmet, gloves and Fibertec DH1000. Work is so close it is hardly worth starting the car. There are a lot of jealous people throwing looks my way as well. Stay well, g'day to Mich and Pete.
Comment by Mic Longhurst on November 1, 2011 at 14:43 I'll skate with you but you live too far away :)
I've been too busy to do much serious riding but I am commuting to work. In canberra its about $10 a day to park where i work or free and a 5-10 min skate. The skate is better option and I love the looks cruising into work in a suit on my skatey....

The Over 40 was just a guideline....not a rule. Skating through the week with my daughter Belle. We caught up with some groms and the oldest was 17...I'd rather be skating with their dads.
benbro is not over 40, i'm 36 and i know what you mean, always skating with groms. keeping up with them most of the time, and sometimes showing them how its done.

To get you in the mood here is some of what we are aspiring to do. Benbro is the master, and is at the top of his game. Check out this video, it will whet your appetite for some action of your own.

A little eye candy for the Sultans - not chicks, but skating in BC Canada...trez cool. Bombing, sliding, crashing... http://etni.es/22e

In recent visits to the HopShop I have met a bunch of guys my age who are getting back into skateboarding. Like the Maidens of Steeze, we have a group that needs to be represented. Mark Knopfler sang about us - we are the Sultans of Steeze. If you are >40 then we should hook up and get some new school skating into our old school bodies. More importantly lets get some practice in so that we can prove to these young guns that we were legitimate custodians of the sport back in the 60's and 70's. I will put an event together so that we can have a roll at our pace and get rid of the cobwebs.Even if you have not skated before but meet the age demographic, you are welcome. For any of you groms wanting mum or dad to get into it, give them a nudge. I like skating with you young guys but would also like the chance to skate with people my own age.
