have finished building a streetluge and was wondering if the bushing seat in paris hangers would have the same benefit they do to standup as they do to a luge?
if so i'll probably get paris 195's
pro's and cons

Cheers
p.s. i'm planning to run it with 8 wheels if that makes a difference

really it all depends on your riding style, when you first get a board you can play around with different setup's to see what works best for you, you do want to stay with a wider s=truck, which will give you better cornering, i run an 8 wheel setup and find the added traction really does help, though it does take twice as long to tune a board, and that's still after years of practice hehe.

go to the info section of www.sydneystreetluge.com and have a read through the boards and trucks section, as well have a read of the wheels section as this will play a big part of your riding.

best thing to do is hook up with the brizzy boys and ride as much as you can with them, as you can get allot of feedback in a short amount of time when riding with experienced riders.

by the way.........get some photos up dude and give us a look at ya stick :)

PEACE!
cheers, i have been doing standup for aaages and was just wondering about a few things.

i'm gonna paint it after i buy the trucks, then i'll post some pictures ;)

The Paris would be ideal for your first board, especially the 195's!
My trucks were Randal 180's until a year ago, and to be honest there wasn't too much difference. it all comes down to the bushings you slap in them. With four trucks you have the beauty of being able to run a little softer bushings with more freedom in turns. just don't have your trucks i.e Front/front too far apart, likewise at the back. keep them so that you can just squeeze your fingers between them. If you set them up too far apart when you turn each truck will be on a different turning arc which will screw up your wheels & slow you down.
Definately keep us posted how you go!
yea man, took that into account and cheers!

Setting up an 8 ball is interesting. Phill was spot on with keeping the two wheels close together, around 10mm apart. Once you've got some riding under your belt, Mike, lifting your secondary truck, front and back, will come into play, but thats a bit firther down the track. Being your first luge, I'd suggest running a 6 ball, two trucks at the front and one truck at the back. As your initial speeds won't be extremely high, running one truck on the back will allow you learn what the back will do while cornering, ie, slides etc.
Again, Phill was right, with regards to the bushings. Personally I runn Randal blue/blacks, but if you talk to Phill, he had some brilliant bushings he could get his hands on. ( Sorry, Phill, hope I didn't drop you in it ). As far as wheels go, I run 76mm Monster Hawgs, white formula, and LOVE 'em. Have a chat with Ado at Cre8ive Sk8, and he'll run through his "German Porn" collection......He'll know what you mean if you say that to him.
The Brissy guys have alot of variety of boards running at the moment, so definately hook up for runns.
Cheers,
Andy
Hi Michael,

We ride near every weekend around brisbane. give me a call on 0421 571 931 if your interested in tagging along and meeting all the guys. Depending on your riding level you may be interested in the training days we are organising. They will be coming up over the next few weeks.

Look forward to meeting you.

Cheers,
Tyler.
