Yep, watch out for the GOFR (as in Gopher) GRUMPY OLD FARTS RACING the team to beat in 09!!!!!!!!!!
Can I please be a GOFR, Ado...please,please,please!!!!!!!....lolololol
6 man heats at newtons will be a bit too much i rekon... that track is burley enough as it is and trying to fit 6-wide through forest elbow will result in sure carnage... the only race ive seen with 6 man heats was maryhill coz it was relatively slow and the corners were long and wide, so there was more than enough room for 6 people, however all theo other races were 4 man (although most parts of the course were wide and open enough for 6) those key hectic parts were just so nasty if you sent through 6 dudes one will definately get hurt... i think the same might happen at forest's elbow

Likely to be 64 for standup. It is very hard to make accurate projections on rider numbers but we could have 150 standup and qualify the top 64. This would happen with 1-2 full days open practice followed by 2 half days open practice with 1 qual run held on each afternoon of the 3rd and 4th day. All racing would be on day 5. In the event we only get 4 days than day 1 would drop off.

So in the event you do not qualify you would still be riding the hill for 4 days. While absolutely nothing is finalised at this stage the possibility of running 96 in 6 man heats is still there. We will look at these options in the coming months.
I like your wife Phil. I have read thorugh that rule book Robbo. Do the paddle lanes still come into play?? I think it was Duff who said that they may have scrapped the lanes. Im still a little confused as to how one signs up to race. Is it done at the event itself or will it have to be done via net or post a month or so before the event??

Peace
Dani
word on the street is paddle lanes have been scraped but there is flexibility on that for race organisers and no final decisions have been made . Rego is likely to open a couple months before and would be completed online. So competitors would be told a time that rego will open and as soon as numbers are filled that's it. That may take 1month or 3hrs.
Excellent that clears that up then, Thanks muchly Robbo. I should probably learn how to skate now, huh? I shall listen out for the word on race entries.

Peace
Dani
