South-East Queensland, Brisbane - board confiscation?

Hey all,

I've been hearing some rumors that if you get caught skating in the city the coppers will confiscate your board? Don't know if this is true, thanks.

For some reason, cops still think we go to skate parks on our boards, I have been asked that question twice now, which says to me, they are still under the impression that we grind public property with them, in other words, deface property. It shits me, but they shouldn't be able to take away your boards, even though it is threatened in queen street mall, most of those cops are hard asses, cause they deal with so much shit from short boarders/goths/scene kids.
Need some decent PR work up here, we've been doing the city run for years now without injury to person or property (except ourselves) and there's usually a bunch of teenagers not causing drunken shit cause they're too busy having fun SKATEBOARDING.
Yeh, it gets me angry when the police try to exercise powers that they don't have. I was skating with a mate not long ago and this policewoman told us that we had to pick up our boards and that we weren't allowed to skate on the footpath. She also said that if she caught us skating on the 'footpath' that our boards would get confiscated. About 500m further on we started skating again and we came across 2 more male police officers and they just smiled and said hello....
