Totally misses this, sorry. Good on ya Mick, crack that whip.
Sounds like a good idea to me, Maybe incorporate it into one of the races next year ?
Jacko made a good point about getting more younger dudes racing slalom.
But the ones that are racing, are stoked on it.
To get an age division happening I think we need to get more groms into it. How do we do this ?
Spread the stoke ? More sessions in public areas ? Coaching clinics ? Legal races ? . ?

I'd dig to race in an over 40's event...... so lets get it sorted.
I got 22 months before I turn 50..... & have to race with the old farts.

Thanks for starting this the thread Greg.
Hope to catch you at the Pumpstation this year.

Any other late ideas on this subject ?
this may sound naive but would 20 over 40 guys find it easier to get a legalised slalom race going on than 30 groms and some older guys?

like i know it shouldnt happen but if someone older asks for something from the council they have more chance of getting it, just because councils know older people are voters and people are more likely to respect their opinions
Kind of yes yes and no not really....the thing is HOW and WHO you ask which is why we have posted a topic asking who would be interested in slalom comps on the Gold Coast. Hank's Place Australia is prepared to do the work to get some legal slalom comps and slalom sessions up here on the Goldy but it's all for nothing if no one is interested. Please don't post us your interest here fire it on the topic in sites and sessions Gold Coast Slalom Competition
