ASRA - Australian Skateboard Racing Association

From 6pm tonight on channel 7 news, news story will screen on South East Queensland downhill skate community versus local councils, who want to ban the sport completely (Mostly Gold Coast City councillor Chris Robbins), will feature Jason Wright, Steve Daddow, 4 year old Linky, and more...

Not sure of what kind of negative or positive spin they (Channel 7) will put on it, but the debate is on... will see when it airs...

One would think if the story is starring Linky, that its not going to be a get-the-dangerous-hooligans-off-our-roads beat up. Maybe theyl shred the Gold Coast Council for being all over the place.
Everybody knows city councils around australia have lost the plot. If there was a section of government that shouldnt be able to legislate,.... its them.

Im very interested to see how this pans out.
I dont think the public truly back the desires of city councils. We all know they are petty and incompetent.

not to mention greedy
Turned out quite well I reckon!
:)
...a surprisingly awesome news item!!
Yeah, we're all pretty stoked... will post video in about 15 min...

L ;)
Turned out good; but pleeeeease tell me someone is about to give the council a thought out planned proposal of how to forward downhill on the goldy and everyone isn't sitting on their butts waiting for someone else to do it!!
John Wayne is about to start on a campaign to close "problem" skate parks on the Goldy beginning with Discovery Drive and we have been the only people to raise an objection. Close the skateparks and welcome short boards to the streets in numbers.
Why don't we do it? quite simply we were about to release a piece about what we are doing at Newton's but as was pointed out to us when asked who we treat on the Gold Coast we have to reply, apart from Kurt, who we sponsor we treat no Gold Coast skaters, Brisbane and further North travel to us and across the boarder in NSW on a regular basis but no Gold Coast skaters and only two Goldy skaters signed up for Newton's sports package; we have no DH credibility with the council. So who has the proposal or are we right where we were last year and the year before?
My view is that maybe the Gold coast Council could learn something by taking a leaf out of the Bathurst Local council's approach to this great sport, and SUPPORT IT!!!!!. Linky you are the man :)
4 months late? lol

hahahaha where is mum where is dad ..........hes right there with his boy hahahahaha

a helmet is not goin to save a child when it hits a motor viechle at 50 kms an hour ..........hahahaha ......mine saved me twice

if a helmet does not work .....then why are there motorbike on our roads / why is there a law to wear one.........hahahaha any exuse in the book ay....

Erm well if helmets dont protect us from crashes at 50kmh, then how are we still alive after having crashed at TWICE that speed? maximum retardation from City council there.
