ASRA - Australian Skateboard Racing Association

OK folks, we're back after just a three-day break. The ASRA team has landed in Bathurst, and despite advance warnings of how cold it is we've still been surprised - it's brutally cold. My first task here was to buy some fingerless gloves and a very attractive hat:

Once suitably warmed we got settled into our luxury digs before heading out for some twilight mini-ramp action at the festival site. It's a 6' ramp, so more of a maxi-mini really, and it took its toll with Trav and Haggy taking some hard slams.

A blurry Trav heads for the coping, while Haggy, Blackwood, Pete and the Van of Love look on

Yes, it was cold up there. Bring your woolies. See you tomorrow. Rider check-in starts at midday at the Flannery Skillset Centre.

Adam, until we run the Juniors round of 16, we won't know who is in the semis.

Jordan, we know the running order, but not how long anything takes, so the final will be...the last race of the day.

And the Juniors on the line now, for the first time today.

We're making great time schedule-wise, which could be a good thing with rain forecast.

First Juniors heat:

Quin Finocchio (J)
Josh Evans (J)
Caspian Baska (J)
Addison Lucchesi (J)

Go Josh!

Dejan leads Kelly C through the Dipper, then Kelly makes a wild inside pass through Forest, but Dejan drafts him down Conrod and passes, both go through to round 2, while Cooper and Connor get knocked out.

Josh had a solid run behind Quin. Caspian looked like he might have been able to catch him on Forest, but Caspian broke tuck for a few seconds and lost the draft.

Go Dejan Wollongong boy

Open results, 9th to 20th

9 Torbjørn Sunde
10 Rob Mcwhinnie
11 Luca Coleman
12 Duke Degen
13 Kyle Martin
14 Patrick Switzer
15 Cameron Kite
16 Lars Mikalsen
17 Ethan Lau
18 Anthony Graves
19 Michael English
20 Jack Kent

Just spoke to Rob - he's completely fine after supermanning onto pucks and shoe tops at 95km/h.

Kyle M and Rob M touch wheels at top speed on Conrod, and they both slam hard, and both are out of the race.

Yatesy the No. 1 classic qualifier about to start his semi with Dangerous Dave M:

Adam Yates
Nic Mckirdy
Frank Williams
David Miller

Yates wins his semi, and Mike English 2nd in his, both into the final, which is:

Adam Yates
Frank Williams
Graham Brittain
Michael English

Will there be another bump-out on Yatesy?

Women's results keep their pattern:

Marisa Nunez (F)
Ishtar Bäcklund (F)
Gemma Holland (F)
Magaly Mcwhinnie (F)

Now Junior semis!!!
