ASRA - Australian Skateboard Racing Association

I've been out on marked roads with over 50 speed limits without knowing these limitations. I've had good things happen. I think we should also share positive stuff if we want positive stuff to happen.

Cops have driven past without stopping or giving me a hard time, and a couple of times I've had people pull over to watch or slow down to clock my speed. Sometimes at night, cars even give way.

I put it down to a couple of simple things:
1. I keep moving so i don't frustrate the locals or their traffic
2. As much fun as it may be, skateboarding is not cycling (peleton's piss me off), I keep small numbers where possible
3. I'm doing hills not mountains, so I guess people don't have the overwhelming urge to save my soul from what they perceive as a certain outcome.
4. I always treat a blind corner a s a potentially fatal corner
5. I try to skate during the daylight as much as possible, and if at night i wear a headlight.

Happy to your tips on hassle free skating
