yo yo crew just got back from the sunshine coast and am back in Vancouver. We just had Danger Bay weekend and Jakes Rash race. Danger bay was incredible, there were so many people there and the level of riding was just amazing. We had 200 racers to cut through so the first round were 6 man heats, one push starts and top two advance (chris chatput and his weird one-foot-box thingo got crashed out by a grommet in the first round was funny he was so pissed then packed up n left) and there were many many crashes. Yate dawg and myself got through the first and 2nd rounds and met our matches in the 3rd rounds. I was up against Mischo, Zak Maytum and Danny Connor from Sector 9. Zak took a bad line and took out Mischo in carnage corner however i had a little spill of my own and was in the hay and didnt realise, so i took my time getting up and out of the hay becayse i thought my day was over, then i noticed Zak was just picking up his board so i started pushing my ass off. I caught up to him but was only a little bit out juice coming into the last corner so i had no choice but to grab onto him and try and slingshot passed, but we rubbed wheels and i went flying into the hay, was sick... The next few rounds were amazing, i saw some crazy riding. One heat in particular James Kelly comes booking into the corner with K-rimes and they were side by side going mach-10 speed with dalua out in front, james kelly looks at k-rimes and links up with him and k-rimes gives him the nod so they went into the corner side-by-side using each other's weight to keep up right and rail it at full speed. The next few heats were incredibly stacked with dudes flying through the corner in tight packs faster than any years before. Was very overwhelming the skill of riding down that day.
Jakes Rash was a crazy race in its own, full tuck down sweepers with ups and down to negotiate so exit speed was a must and any slight mistake lost you the draft of the man in front and was a hard race to win. Not only the fact that the dudes were ripping at warp speed. Once again the heats were stacked and the fasted man won. The semi's and the finals were crazy heats, dudes in packs passing like 5 or 6 times down the hill mixing it up and really railing it full tuck and using every amount of aerodynamics to aid them in their victories. In the semi's James Kelly came from 4th place straight up through to 2nd with one pass right on the last straight.
Mischo got 1st, Dalua 2nd, James Kelly 3rd and Jose from Peutro Rico 4th.

Going out to skate BP's and vancouver mountains today, The Gold Rush race this weekend will be gnarly. long straights into hairpins and with the crazy riding ive seen in the past few days this one is going to be an eye opener.
Footage to come real soon

BC rules bro, elbows out first wheels across the line wins... gotta be rock solid or u dont win
Wow,.. pretty interesting rules.
I remember seeing a time lapse photo of Brian Elderkin grabbing Nate Lang in the wet going thru the DB final corner. It made me wonder if there was any protests.

Roller Derby for real by the sounds. :]
looks and sounds like so much fun.
