BC Eel Speel

Hooray, finally got my BC Eel all the way from Oklahoma last week! :) Have been too busy riding it to have a rant about how good it is, but now I will. Ok so imagine a cross between the tan tien and a dervish, multiply the awesomeness factor by 10x and include way more capability for downhill and that's the Eel:

Specs - 42 inches, 1/2 inch of gnarly concave, 9 1/2 inches wide, drop through deck

Flex - I got this baby in Boss flex, which is the stiffest flex BC does (the other is fat free) to try to keep the options open a bit for downhill. The Boss flex is stiff enough for some of the moderate hills I've cruised down (max 30 or 35 k's an hour, no sliding) but flexy enough to not feel like a driftwood plank on the flats. In short, for me it gives an ideal balance because it's responsive without being impossible for hills. Though I'd have to get someone with more dh experience to give it a go on some big hills to really find out.

Length, width, concave and cutouts - You can cross step and dance this baby easily, it has plenty of space length and width wise. The concave is brilliant, if you compare it to a dervish and a tan tien (my mate has both so it's the easiest comparison for me) it's a lot more comfortable and really locks you in. You'd have to be retarded to fall off this thing. And the cutouts are a lot bigger than what you'd expect, being bigger than my whole extended hand (so probably the size of a medium-large guys hand, I don't have a ruler so yeah) which allows for a lot more ease with tricks like the tiger claw, etc, where the trick is orientated around popping the board.

My set-up is 75mm lemon bigzigs (83a), paris 180's and bones super reds. Riding the Eel is like riding a cloud or being a ninja; it rolls so smooth and quietly that people don't even know you're there until you pass them. Plus I got custom graphic, which is free for the bottom of the board, so wohoo! Ok that's all I can really be bothered typing, so bleh. This board is fricken awesome.

On a side note, just discovered I can't get a '67 Mustang Fastback, or any mustangs for that matter, because they're all banned for P platers. Despite having got my dad to agree to buy me one for my bday next year. To all the hoons out there who made the gov. regulate us this tough: I will cut your balls off if you come near me. This sucks :( will have to wait pretty much 4 years to get the car of my dreams
