Attention Sydney Luge community: an injured friend in need
As i have already posted, Chris Shuetz, a classic luger from Germany is still in Manly hospital with serious injuries to his lung and ribs (he was in the crash where Yvon broke 2 ribs). He was re-admitted last thursday to drain the fluids and get him back on his feet. He was meant to be home 2 weeks ago with his family however it is looking like he will be spending christmas in hospital. Chris has had no one from the community visit him apart from myself, my family and haggy. As i said in my previous post the thing that he needs most right now is friends, and i am asking if you could please visit him, it would mean a lot. Lets see some support for a fellow rider and really show how strong the family is.

just a thought, why doesn't everyone arrange to go in on Christmas day, bring in something each and have Christmas in there with him? we've all got the opportunity to spend Christmas with all of our families, i can't imagine what it'd be like stuck in a hospital bed in a foreign country on Christmas. Just a thought..

Yeah that must really suck for him, I had to spend 2 weeks in hospital one year over the easter break with a knee problem while family were away, and that was boring enough! Hope some people do indeed make the effort to visit him.

Hey Chris , get well soon mate,
If I was still in Manly I'd drop around, I wouldnt wanna be stuck in any hospital all alone for Christmas, that SUX.
I spent a night in Manly ER once from a Luge accident, its not the greatest place to be.

pat, sorry to sound rude but he aint gonna read that. he is in hospital. this post was for people to get up and go see a friend in need. Chris will get better there is no doubt about that and he will be back home in no time, the real shit thing here is he will be spending christmas day in a hospital bed. Please everyone who lives in sydney and has read this go out of your way and take some time out to put a smile on the poor guy's face. Im sure you have plenty of stuff to do on christmas day but you can all go back to your families that afternoon/evening, he cant.

UPDATE: Chris is coming out of hospital today, so he wont have to spend christmas there. Thank you to everyone who visited him and showed support to a fellow rider.

Yeah just went and saw him, while he has a good view from his window I wouldn't wanna be in that bed with two holes in my side on christmas day. Hopefully the Doc's actually let him go. I know there has been times when i've been in Hospital and they've said I could go home but it didn't happen till a day later.
