i did a write up for o-tangs for the loaded crew (then was lucky enough to be asked to be part of the Loaded O-Tang Team, stoaked!)
so if you want some info on these wheels and how they have performed down in OZ check it out
tried em out today at eagle. only got to do one run of the corner/technical section, but was amazed at the difference after coming out of the hairpin. usually i enter without breaking and end up losing heaps of speed from drifting. today i didn't break and i didn't drift out either, so i exited soooo much quicker. Its gonna take a bit of getting used too, taking corners without losing traction everytime. means faster and also safer riding.
when i say brake, i mean air brake if anything. I used to do both air and foot brake before the hairpin, but I don't bother at all anymore. I just wanna go faster. ;)
it used to be a tight corner with the harder wheels (seismics and flywheels), but its a breeze now with the O'Tangs.
thats a question that can't be answered. they are all different and all have different riding characteristics to suit different situaions. I can't tell you which one is better, but what i can say is, it doesn't matter which wheel you get in he first instance because you won't know any different until you ride something different. buying more wheels and tweaking ur set-up etc. will come later once you have learned as much as you can on that particular set-up and feel you need something else to help you move forward.

oh okk yer true that Leigh. i have had the otangs before and i liked them because of the grip but they would also drift out when broken in. but a friend was like you can get way better dh wheels but i though hmm i don't really want to waste money trying all different wheels. i will probably just get the new purple otangs.
i dont think there is a better DH wheel than the O-tang at the moment for 'all around downhill'
some wheels ive found have been better on different surfaces but that is such a wide scale of roads and wheels so you wont really need them for those situations untill your hitting the racing scene... for all around DH i would say the o-tangs are pretty much the best at the moment...
hopefully those bears will be in this week. i'd say if you have a more drifty style and you like to slide a bit i'd go the 4pres, but if ur all about grip and power-lines i'd say In Heats... they are both equally as fast and grippy, its just a little bit easier to break out the 4-presidents into a slide when you really want to
