Event Description

g'day guys this is to let everyone know what is happening...there will be an event held at Zig Zag during feb. pretty straight forward stuff...starting at 9 and has everyone meeting at royal park skatepark in Launnie before going up to the hill.

there is an emergency hill as a back up. And a few other spots that we know we will be able to transport people too for some free riding fun later the same day/ the next day.

this event is *ahem* non sanctioned, so.....everyone has to just be cool about it.... gold coin donation and all funds will pay for the cars to run up and down the slopes eh? plus some water, which will be provided.

by signing the sheet you state that if you crash and get hurt you wont be a fat girls blouse about it and wont sue.

no helmet, gloves? no ride. that simple.

The revised idea is to run a 2 man heat- using double elimination.

1st goes through, stays in the winners circle. 2nd goes into the 2nd's circle.

1sts keep racing and if you keep winning you stay there.

2nd's keep racing until the come second again. At that stage your out.

final will be the last remaining 1st and the last remaining 2nd.

meaning: everyone has done a fair whack of racing and had every opportunity to claw it back.

Numbers permitting Groms (u/18) will have their own class to shred in.

drinks after....as always...even some red stuff for the groms eh?

more news to come- finalizing sponsors etc...but we have a cash prize and some goodies....so....

rego and etc will be opening ASAP and after reading the regs etc we will be getting the OON points allocated if possible.

accom: lots of crew have places to stay- but there are still heaps of cheap places to get rooms all over hobart or Launnie...but honestly, most of the crew is travelling up and back in one day- stay in the capital and come shred with the crew for the day before/after/ etc.

finalising some prices etc as we speak.

We will have a 7 seater van and multiple cars going up, we can organise another 9 seater if that makes likes easier and people are keen.  There is also a bus that runs daily to head up....but it takes FOREVER...so.....

"final" format and rules being written tonight - we'll listen to suggestions, and perhaps implement them for a week or so - then it'll be concrete.

lads and laddettes....

chrissy being what it is and all the e-drama etc....i've been away for a while...

rego will be opening soon. promise.

details and prices for the bits and pieces to make everyones life easier is on the move.

new sponsors and confirmed sponsors to thank....

new interviews to put up.

and we will be capping the entry. but you will see that when the event rego goes live.

(at this stage it is 32 man event, with 2 man heats- double elim. and a grom final from the top 6 or 8....)

bugs makes a good point about the 3 man though.

yeh nice bugs, would split the field better for seeding into the final tree.

the locals have a chance to qualify well rather than be seeded based on rankings, wich a lot of competitors at this race dont yet have.

You could use 3-man heats during the round robin phase with this format.

even with 32 riders, being 2 man heats, thats alot of heats to get thru..

just 4 race to qual heats- is 64 heats,

anyway the aim i think was to give everyone a bit of racing experience,.to acheive this with 2 man heats its going to be a lot of heats wich ever way it goes down..

i dont care,i just want to ride and race a techy little hill like that.
