Event Description

Last year we held the downhill competition at Skjervet, which turned out to be a huge success, thus we´re planning to repeat the success in 2009. The slope starts at the top of a canyon with a spectacular view. First you have to master two challenging turns on the edge of a huge cliff. Then you face the most technical turn on the slope before you pass a huge waterfall. The course finishes with two hairpins. The slope is great, but it’s very technical which can possibly favour the best skaters.

Hehe wod if i cod.... It's better than Maryhill. Seriously...Norway is unexplored by foreign riders still and U wont be dissapointed! It's like a small canada for god's sake! Just ask Yatesy! He went not so long ago ey...

Road looks awesome. Do they race hillclimb cars there or was it a choice to use tyres instead of hay bales?

The sun won't set until eleven at night in summer and there's heaps of entertainment and video of the day everyday.....

Hope this helps....anything else? Let me know... Im gonna land in Norway on the 21th of june. I can organize free accomodation for ozzie riders for sure before the comp and after. The camping is included in the ticket for the week. I'll let u know as soon as possible about costs and so on when all that is set up.

It's a race definitely... but the freerides are awesome and we got a whole week up there too so. It's 3 days of comp and rest freerides every day. U can also give one of the many other disciplines a go. Skydiving or basejumping? Kayaking, downhill mountainbike for example and many others...

U can reach speeds over 90kmh in the freerides. The race is not as fast but still u gonna hit 70 - 80...

Every year the longboarders set up camp together and there is a bonfire/BBQ every night! THere are concerts and other activities around town everyday for the whole week so that is another option. The list of bands isn't redy yet but usually there is good ones. Last years biggest names were Q-tip and Immortal technique. I'll let you know when it's posted as well...

Here's another video purely from the race... May look relaxed but u know how hard it is capturing the speed on cam hey.... Anyway just to compare, it's not Bathurst but it is soooo much faster and fun than the Pump station and probably better than Maryhill which takes place at the same time so either Mary or Voss. I've done the week three times before and would always go back.

Is this a race or a free ride? Videos look very relaxed, which is not a bad thing. I think I may go to this.
