Event Description

We are bringing back the original 'Grom-Bomb' event, but seeing as there are so many grom shredders these days we need to let some of the newbies pick up the pace. It will be at the same place we had the Grom Bomb Splashdown (click link for write-up/video).

This is a race for all the new-comers and beginners to downhill skateboarding that are looking at getting into events but want to start out easy. The race will be on a mellow bike path with smooth pavement, very mellow grade and speeds of around 40-50km/h. There is a run-out at the bottom however there is one right hand corner that you will need to slow down for, but it is a very mellow turn.

It's still on regardless of the weather. Those who are not keen to skate in the rain it's ok to not come, we all understand this is a novice race and riding in the wet is not entirely for novices, so I will put on another one when the weather is better.

But as for today te race IS ON!

I would suggest turning up anyway, maybe it clears up later on. You can make the choice if you want to race when the time comes

Has this race been cancelled because of the rain or is it still on

ahah man It wasnt even raining, the footpath was just damp and I went around a corner on a footpath with heaps of leaves on it and slipped out. :P

Riding in the rain makes you stack sooo much more!

I've been looking forward to this and I really want to go but if it rains my board is going to get waterlogged because there's a big 2-ply deep chip through the nose of my board, and with buying new bearings its like paying a $150 entry fee to a novice  race. :(
