Event Description

Hopkin School of Speed

Come one, come all.

Grommets come learn how to bomb with some of Australia's best at Pump Station.

We will be joined by the likes of Ben "benbro" Hay and Cameron "Kamakaze" Kite.

Helmets and Gloves are a must, Knee, Elbow pads and leather are optional but are helpful for the crashing of groms.

10am start

Bring a dollar for grom racing after freeriding.

Also bring food and water, LOTS OF WATER.

If you don't have a downhill setup/helmet, Pm me and ill see what i can do to hook you up.

The closest train station is Linden and is only a short skate from location, we might be able to organise a few shuttles in a later stage.

Its more about an intro to learning some basic skills of downhill. Cornering, stance, race lines, setup. The guys will have a TAG Heuer wireless timing system on the day so we will do some time trial runs which will let you race the clock and see how you can improve your style and speed. I guess that will create a rank but the main purpose is to see how much you can improve your time over the day rather than who is the overall fastest

Just wondering, will there be a race in all this? Or is it just about learning basics and new skills?
