Rock & Roll 2008, the fastest race of the International Gravity Sports Association (IGSA) World Cup Series takes place for the second time in Thalgau, Austria (near Salzburg) from July 23-26. More than 120 racers from around the world are looking forward to this unique event with top speeds of 100 kph for Downhill Skateboarding and 120 kph for the luge disciplines.
Beginning on Wednesday July 23, the riders from all disciplines (Downhill Skateboard, Classic Luge, Street Luge, Gravity Bike and Dirt Surfer) have two days of training runs to learn the fastest route down the track.
On Saturday, the race day, the visitors can watch a thrilling championship from various places along the track. There is one great observation point in a 180°bend, where it’s almost possible to feel the racer’s surge of adrenalin, trying to overtake their competitors.
As usual, light catering and beverages for all visitors are provided in the finish area as well as on the track. Everybody is invited to celebrate with us on Friday and Saturday night, from 9pm onwards, a parties with two Austrian rock bands each evening, like The Gang Bang Gang and Pink As A Panther.
