Event Description

The slalom season ends with giant slalom at the Pump Station.

The Course
We plan to have the first ever full-length slalom race at the Pump St, with cones loose enough to ride a longboard.

Race Format
This will be a jam, which means that everybody will have a certain number of timed runs down the course, with the fastest run determining the winner. Get there early for practice so you can make the most of your timed runs.

The Start
For the first time at the Pump Station we'll use a 5 foot high start ramp to launch people at the first cone.

Start ramp details
Top transition: 1.2 metre radius
Straight section: 800 mm at 45 degrees
Bottom transition: 2.4 metre radius

How to get there
The location of the Pump St is known only to the initiated. All are welcome to attend, but first you have to find out where it is. Contact either me, Mountain Mick, Trav, or Robbo for details and the secret handshake.

Pump St Etiquette
1. Don't park in driveways or anywhere a local resident might not like.
2. Take all your rubbish with you when you leave.
3. Be nice to dogs, small children and all other creatures.
4. Everything else.

Can I race?
Yes, but you have to:
(a) Be a financial ASRA member. You can join up on the day, or you can do it now.
(b) Pay the $20 race entry fee on the day.
(c) Wear a helmet and gloves. Pads are a good idea too.

It's steeper and faster than other conehead races, the course is Hybrid with GS bits. Locale is in the Blue Mountains and remote (zero facilities, bring water!), but a great spot, like a bushwalk with skating. You can catch a train there from Sydney if required.
