ASRA - Australian Skateboard Racing Association

hi all,

just wondering if anyone could throw some advise regarding bushings.

I got venom super carve shr 91-92d and there way to carvey and are all

over the place. So i put my stock barrel from my paris colton back to boardside to

see if it would help it kinda did but I sill find it kind of to lose even with the trucks

tightened all the way!

I weigh 105kg and like abit of everything freeride and downhill.

Should I go for the hardest possible duro and have a barrel B/S and a cone R/S

This is my first longboard Ive skated street before but any info would be appreciated

thanks alot.

Bushing shape will help too. Barrels are great but the super wide Eliminator shape offer more resistance.

Harder bushes on the back truck will make it stable. You don't want to rob yourself turning ability so I wouldn't go super hard bushes all round. If you wanna test mixed duro on the truck keep the bigger and harder bushes on the bottom (closest to deck).

Its no bible but it guided me in the right direction...

I weigh around the same as you and I've found that  fatcones work well to keep my trucks loose and turny, while still having a decent amount of stability and a solid centre.

Wow!

Tracker had bushes that shape in their Fastrack randal style trucks but Ididn't know anyone else made them.

I have some 40mm dia left over bushes from the days when I used to shape them myself from wheels.

Back then Venom and Riptide weren't around and Radikal and Stims were very rare and expensive (even more so now!) so I decided to make them myself.

I was lucky enough to pick up some Radikal bushings for my Talons recently. I got 4 of each colour except blue, including some never used clears. Would love to find some blues, If you have any in good nick I'd be happy to trade some clears for them. What wheels were you you making your bushings out of?
