Ruapuna Ultraskate

The Event: For the second time in New Zealand, the Mike Perro Raceway is hosting the ‘Ruapuna Ultraskate’ – A 24-hour charity fundraiser for small wheeled vehicles – skateboards, longboards, inline-skates, rip-stiks, skooters and rollerskates.

In 2011 the event had over 50 participants from all over New Zealand and raised over $3000 for charity. As well as this, a New Zealand distance skateboarding record was set and a world record in distance quad skating.

This year we are opening it up to solo entrants and teams of up to 6 people and as the event will be sanctioned by the IDSA (International Distance Skateboarding Association) we are guaranteed that riders from overseas will be entering.

Grab some mates, get some wheels and come and see how far you can get in 24 hours!

Date: 0800 Saturday 5th September to 0800 Sunday 6th September

Location: Mike Perro Raceway at Ruapuna Park. Templeton (12km South of Christchurch) NZ.

Charity: A yet to be decided local charity. Money will be raised by individual riders getting sponsorship and paid directly into a bank account set up for the event. All money raised over the cost of the event will go to the chosen charity.

The Track: The Mike Perro Raceway at Ruapuna Park is one of New Zealand’s Premier Raceways. Over 3km of silky smooth blacktop with facilities to deal with large numbers of people mean that it is an ideal place to get people rolling. Suitable toilet facilities, parking options, camping, indoor space, undercover garaging and space to put up marquees makes it a perfect venue for such an event.
