Event Description

Its happening again Jacks Attack Downhill Challenge 2013!
What is it?
WA's ONLY LEGAL AND INSURED DOWNHILL SKATEBOARDING RACE!

The Track!
We are using another section at the top of the track this year which will mean a chicane with a Left - Right into the straight. We are also moving the finish line by a few metres and more hay bails define the finish line better.

Juniors are 16 AND UNDER.

Registration:

Saturday DH Race: $70

If you wish to Race in Juniors and Opens it will cost you double and it will be entirely at your own risk to be at the line for your next heat. If you miss a heat it is your own fault.

Rego will be thru ASRA and PayPal only again.

Once rego is paid there will be no refunds for any reason, you use it or you lose it.

Race Format:
At this stage we are wanting to have a race for 48 Juniors, 48 Open and hopefully a 16 Womens and 16 Masters. A race format will be decided on soon. As last year we promise as many runs as you can possibly get thru heats and freeride runs.

Safety:

Fullface Helmet, Gloves and knee pads. Leathers are optional but recommend as it is a racing environment and shit does get hectic. There will be a small Tech inspection like last year, make sure your gear is in a good safe condition.

Prizes:

We are stoked to announce we will be offering CASH PRIZES for Juniors and Opens.

1st $400

2nd $250

This is the problem with Facebook.

Too many "Likes" not enough commitment!

Is there room for a slalom race on an unused part of the racetrack?
They don't need much hill, and 300 metres length is plenty.

our last couple of out law jams have attracted 150 riders so i set a minimum of 100 riders to cover road closure, insurance, and miscellaneous costs for a BBQ hire, sausage sizzle food and drinks etc. and i thought we'd exceed 100 riders so we could afford to give the discount to the people racing on the Saturday. and at this point that is working against us as the majority of the 30 people who have rego'd for the skid jam have used that deal and only had to pay 20 bucks.

so to spell it out to people! if you don't freaking rego no slide jam!

just so we are clear how many more people would need to rego to get over the line?

the race is still going ahead. track hire is way less than the road closure costs. I'm pretty gutted at the lack of stoke. our first ever closed road jam is looking to be a failure.

Unfortunately registration has been incredibly poor. We only have 30% or minimum number of riders to be able to afford the road closure for the Sunday Skid Jam and Slalom race. We are forced to move the cut off for Rego to October 14th to allow ourselves to cancel the road closure. We simply will not be able to afford it and can not possibly run the event at such a loss. We can only avoid this if rego picks up. We have been trying to raise interest locally but to no avail.

The downhill racing will still go ahead. We are bitterly disappointed at the severe lack of interest locally and are extremely sorry that we will more than likely be forced to cancel our closed road slide jam and slalom event.
