Maybee we could use the CROSS collection of timers to run a single lane loose longboard slalom course at the same time down the backside of the hill. Just need a table, timers and someone to run the timers.

Cool ! Hopefully not as cool as last year

I've tried the SbA guy before and from memory they got the gov to sponsor the public liability when they ran events as the gov are also a sponsor. I'll ask again though.

Shredders/CDDH SlalomX ;)

How about guys that have a second tight slalom board (I don't, had to sell mine to buy the new beast) could also bring it so any downhillers wanting to come along could try it out on a smaller tight course on the adjacent hill. We have the entire top half of the track, and the other side is steeper so it would be good for the so called SlalomX :)

Henry is hell of the radar but myself and the other CDDH boys are keen to get bulk grommets racing, we'll be running a warmup day in the ditch and possibly a loose slalom for the locals to give it a go before race day.

If you want to chuck boarderX elements into the race we've built up a small assortment of kickers and whatever.

Good idea Scotty.

If you can make the longboard friendly course count for ASRA downhill points, then you should get the groms out.  Henry could also help with that.

Here is an idea to see if SbA have changed their position on longboarding yet:
Ask Dave Pang to set you up with a meeting with ACT SbAHub manager, then ask him to sponsor the third party insurance cover, and track hire fees.

Ah damn guys, we changed the date because the long weekend was hard for some people to make last year, and the weather is likely to be less harsh. Looks like we bumped into wedding season tho :( There'll always be other commitments on any date.

We are looking at flipping it back to April next year as we used to run around that time of year, what are people's thoughts on that?

On slalom day 1 we'd love to see more groms come along, as a secondary event on the day the 100 cone was great, but limited again to those with slalom rigs. What about a loose slalom for longboarders after the tight is run and won? Some Boarder X elements, like hit a kicker otherwise go round some extra cones? Something like 1 run for 2 bucks on the day, 3 for $5 (3 being max you can do). Always up for more ideas.

The week before the first scheduled BoarderX, Ditch could be a good warm up
