Anton Fricker 1986-2009
At the bottom of a run he came off his board and fell. His head took the full force, knocking him out. Emergency services were immediately called and Anton was rushed to hospital. He is currently on life support, while his family and friends say goodbye. It is expected that life support will be removed in the next few days. A funeral service and memorial will be announced.
Anton was wearing a helmet. This is a tragic accident. ASRA asks its members to refrain from posting speculation or unecessary questions regarding this accident. A sudden death stirs up a lot of emotion. His family acknowledges how important ASRA and longboarding were to his life. We encourage you to post up your memories and stories about Anton. We would like this to be a tribute and celebration of Anton's life, that it may help with the grieving process. He has been a big part of ASRA over the last 12 months; a creative force that inspired and motivated many of us. His Skate Australia videos will be a lasting tribute to an amazing man.

oh wow. this is really shocking and saddening news. i only met him once when he joined the Sydney Bomb Squad one night to shoot some video for the Skate Australia film and he seemed a really cool guy. I'm really sorry to hear this news. Rest in peace and may your hills of the future be smooth and endless. sad condolences to your friends and family.

Terrible news, came as a massive shock to me. Anton was an incredible guy, always had a huge smile and such a positive attitude, i still remember the grin on his face after his first mt keira run.
Rest In Peace Anthony, you will be missed by all of us.

Dam!!, I heard the sad news tonight after a nice days riding, never got to meet Anton but did see him skating at MOTH, and was very impressed, What a tragic loss of such a valuable and vibrant soul to our communitiy,

Only ever saw this guy at the outlaw. He was always smiling. It was sorta scary to watch the page load and see the years next to his name.. I'm skating for Anton and his family.

My wife, two children and I met Anton in Sydney; only the once, he spent time showing my wife some of the shots he was taking and he took some of my little ones playing with their boards. Looking at the film and still work he produced gives us an insight into how he saw the world; and he shared that with us. It's always sad to lose an unselfish, caring, sharing artist, especially one so young.
Our dearest thoughts are with all of Anton's family and friends and we hope you can take some solace that he touched so many lives with such a positive light.

I'm spechless...
I met Anton during my first week in Australia, since that day I spent pretty much my whole aussie trip with this bloke, living at his place and working together with the Skate Australia project. So many memories.
Such a nice guy who helped me with so much. He really made my trip.
This is unreal... can't understand he's gone...
Love to Antons brother and his family.
