hey, thanks for the warm welcome!
i don't slide, and am actually still yet to go longboarding! that said, i have plans to build one after my exams (and, of course, get into it!), and stumbled upon this group while on silverfish.
are there many people in the melb group who're nice to newbies? also, as boards're like 200+ to buy, do you know of anyone who would be able and happy to lend a board for a ride?

what is SGS????? it depends on what you want? pine ply and glass
or single layer veneer glass or carbon fibre or combination of either or any of these. let me know length and wheel base? basically between 150 for basic to 220 for full wizbang number.

Wiz bang would be maple and pine single layer veneer with a layer of 450-600gsm glas between top layer and the core and carbon fibre sandwiched between th two bottom layers of maple and them carbon on the bottom and a sealer layer of light glass on the top. 8-9mm thick and stiff as a rock mine is 37 long wb 30-31 and 2 kg so somrhing that size would be quite light?
