Welcome aboard mate, as someone who wiggles rather than bombs will you be coming down to Canberra on the 19th the the slalom and ditch comp?
And where abouts are you situated? if you're on the Goldy give me a shout and come out and kill some cones......
No worries mate, I got my slalom set up from hop shop, the boys really know their stuff sometimes worth giving them a call for some advice on what they think might suit you and your budget; could save you a few bucks.
Let me know when you're down this way and I'll see if I can sort my appointment book out for time off; I'm looking after a slalom start ramp too at the moment which is pretty good fun
spherical bearings help with the stability at higher speeds. They kinda give the hanger some extra solid beef to rest on and is less responsive to those very slight and unwanted twitches. They help you stay in a straight line easier. Think of two urethane bushings holding the hanger in place, sure they might be stable when holding a straight line at high speeds but as vibration dampening through slight bumps and changes in the road theres more play on either side of the bushing, not saying its going to be un stable but it does allow slight movement of the hanger. a spherical keeps that hanger straight and smooth for bombin fast hills. also coupled with the spherical in the pivot it keeps the turning angle true and its nice and smooth.
so in other words the bearings allow for more 'return to centre' and try to keep your hanger in that spot when your going in a straight line, and get rid of the unwanted play and slop you would get with having urethane. think of it as an air-tight 'gap filler' to keep it all nice and solid
yeah man u should get onto it. making the switch from a dervish to a full downhill getup will be a big move. and i rekon u should just spend up and go for the smokies. once you get your glyde and get the feel for it then change to smokies the feel will be very different again. i'd suggest if your interested in buying them just dish out the cash and make the investment, otherwise you might miss out. on the plus side you get a whole package with wheels and bearings and all that, such a score!
did i talk to you i was there at the very start of the day only for like 40 mins. sorry for not being able to say hello. should change your profile shot to one with a helmet? Not hassling ya just looking out for you.
good luck with gabe and the KS.

sorry no Carbon Mummies to be had. Landy didn't send them (wondered why I didn't have any). Next order is about a month away.
