What a day, been out all day surfing and skateing around north and south beach ,went to cold rock ice cream after 2 hour skate sess,Jeff,s sector9 is sic its got a double truck set up turns like a mother fucker, crazy to ride but heaps of fun.had a great push run around the beach you will have to come for a run so much to look at!!! lol I love summer
Yep, sounds cool !!!! spent the day in the gong skateing with Jeff, just a street belt around, what about you ? getting any wheel time ? Starting to break ouy the back wheels at speed so coooooool, have to get used to the feeling and gain some more confidence while im carveing,it scared the shit out of me when i heard them brake away was doing about 25ks again so coooool !!!!!
Hi bud! how was tennis ? I got home too late for a skate myself, delays at the hospital. Im off work tomorrow ,got night shift.I will be trying for skate in the morning how about u.?
No worries bud! I will get up when Sandii goes to work at 7.30 i wiped that footage by mistake so will have to film some more . Im allup for some drifting!!!!! give us a time !
Yeah Yeah !!! He is on night shift in HQ they get flogged in there so i dont expect he will be able to come tomorrow, but im slapping on the plastics and putting those wheels ya gave me on and attacking that corner like a demon !!!! lol hahaha
Hey champ, how's things? just seeing if ur interested in a boxing day skate? Its a busy time I know, just thought I'd ask. If not have a merry christmas and we will skate soon. How was ur lower keira run? I have leathers now yeee haaa
Hey mate! We will be in Sydney during the Master of the Hill event so will be nearby Wollongong. We thinking of doing a shoot in Wollongong some day between 16-18th of January. Are you free during those days? We would love to meet up with someone who could show us around. Bring all your buddies, boards, babes, beers and lets make this day to something special!
ive gotta get in touch with them about the sydney leg of the trip and what not so i'll be coming down with them when they go to the gong, me n the QLD crew will be down there the day before the race. i'll let u know whats happenin
no shit dude. It sucks having no one remotely good to skate with. If there's a race near your place sometime, I'll come up for sure. Mt Kiera looks sweet.
Hey Kristian
What happened with those skate australia dudes did they come down the gong?
PS I'm flat out at work at the moment but if you want to skate with some one who isn't even remotely good next weekend, let me know haha
Cheers man! Yeah it was so much fun, keen to hit keira soon. Well as soon as I get a day or two off. I hate work, it really ruins your life haha. I'll be in touch when i'm free next
hey man, pete and i have decided to steer away from the custom designs, as it makes so much more work for ourselves. we have to sit down and figure out the new prices for the two designs, top mount and drop through, using our new layup of bamboo, glass, carbon and maple. ill get the info out there as soon as we know.
dude when r u gonna come out for another session? the crew are heading down to the snowy mountains on thursday for the weekend for some hardcore downhill, you should come dude. theres some really nice long and straight hills there to bust some speed and some really gnarly ones too, something you gotta skate at least once in ur life
Yeah its going to be a carbon custom. The kooky's are getting sent straight to Will from pulse so that there will be perfect synergy from the the trucks with the deck. I'm going to have to be patient though. Don't think I will see a result for a couple months. Will wants to perfect his carbon finish before he makes another.
When you see mine, I'm pretty sure you will want one
JimZ shaped bushes? Yeah it's a lil trickier but can be done.
Because they're so much fatter I need to sacrifice more of the wheel and would only get about 3 full JimZ's per wheel. For a bush slightly smaller like the cracked shape I can get 5 per wheel.
3 bushes means 3 bushes dude. Because the wheel tapers in toward the middle you start loosing thickness of thane. You could prob get more than 3 per wheel but would have bits missing where the shape doesn't clean up properly.
Try it yourself. You don't need a lathe. It can be done with a holesaw.
17 secs pfft thats slow haha... we were crusing that run so we could all stay together as a group behind the van, the hill can be done WAY faster... bro u gotta come out for sessions, whenever theres one on u gotta be there. we will probs hit mt keira on the way down to the snowys in a few weeks, u should come and then come to the snowys with us, skate some REAL hills bro. we will make a speedboard machine out of u if u come...
thursday the 5th we skate mt keirra, then head down to canberra. the boys fly in at 10pm that night then we pick em up sort out the car pool then go down to jindabyne then skate friday and sat and possibly sunday depending on whos doing what then come home either sunday night or monday morn
Gday mate, ya up for askate on sunday got in touch with steve and he is keen so drop me a line and let me know if ya free ..... been too long little buddy....
yeah it looks like they have just whacked tar in the cracks and left it bumpy, 85 is pretty nuts for the condition of that road. i just upgraded from my shoddy old sector 9 cruiser and i'm just starting out at speedboarding but it would be cool to check out some hills after my exams finish in two weeks
im at uni, im 25yrs old. yeah im gonna come check out the action on friday and bring my gear along. i got lucky today at wilsons bike hub in warrawong, i went in to check out the full faces and they had 2 on sale and one was a giro remedy in my size for half price so im stoked. probably wont skate the hill from top to bottom though 'cause i havent got slides dialled yet and foot breaking at speed is still an issue..... my number is 0402597399 if you want to go for a skate anytime.
im not on facebook or myspace but i might get round to setting up facebook soon. my mobile number is in the message about 3 down the list so give us a buzz if you head out for a skate. i was thinking of joining jacko and the boys for the sydney sessions but those hills look a bit too hardcore for me at the moment....
Most trucks are indeed cast into sand, some have the axles in there when the alu' goes in hot, some are pressed in there afterwards.
all the new-er line of randals are sand cast with the axles in the mold. the Comp 2 linup goes through a secondary heat treating process, I don't think this can be done to a cast-in truck - as alu' and steel behave differently when it comes to heat treating.
There's a few LB trucks on the market that are cast into a solid state mold, but they've all gone to china to do so - it's generally too expensive for most companies to make solid state molds, without compromising something... so thay go to china and make jokes of it.
