nah man, i have a glyde and LOVE it, the pure sense of speed; though for my carving, free ride or sliding/ commuting i use my LOADED DERVISH, very good board
Yep Cooper, you got it right re Kincumber. Right behind the school. Usually needs a bit of cleaning before it can be skated. Gets wet easily, even if it's not raining.
the deck is a landyachtz chinook and the hill there is on the old pacific highway at somersby.
theres a curvy bit that goes to a straight me and my friends call 'chill hill' and directly opposite that a long fairly speedy hill we call 'kill hill'.
well my evo is friggen awesome at pure DH or speed runs, and with 160 hangers on and venom bushings its pretty agile at speed, but when its not at speed, u can kiss the agileness away........ the weight is good in a long run, but terrible in kick off starts. I slide my evo alot, wheels are conned all the time, and the back slips out easily and very predicable, its a bit dif having the back at such low angles when it comes to technically slides, but all you have to do is get use to it.
If you want a DH board that is mildly good at free riding, its prolly ur best bet, i use it to commute to work after school everyday and its fine, cause i can bomb and take every corner there with complete ease, so ya, i do recommend it, im finding it hard to choose a dif board to ride, hope that helps,
yeah where were u thinkin of skating? i was gonna head up towards Newport and skate with my mate sam but theres some gnar roads and lots of traffic up there. where did u have in mind?
yeah killara is a bit far from where i normaly skate if u dont have a car. this sat im hoping to head up towards Newport (which unfortunately is further away from u) so if you can make it to the northern beaches then yeah i can show u some spots, otherwise i'd have to do some exploring around your areas one day n find some hills
killswitch is hectic bro... you can ride that bitch anywhere... last's nights session wasnt the same for me without my killswitch. That thing i feel so locked into for freeriding... your so close to the wheels so you have full control and the 3D moulding gives great pockets for your feet... It is a top-mount so sliding that sort of board is a bit different, but you get some nice slippery wheels on it like the freerides and its gold
well its different coz its a top-mount. i learned to slide on lowered boards n drop thru boards n all that, its hard to describe how they feel different. But its great for a DH board, the concave and pockets really give you control over everything. so much fun on that.
bro yeah i'm the sticker guy. i'm all out at the moment, they kinda come and go pretty quick. next batch to go through i'll put some aside. best bet is go to some sessions they usually flow around there. bummed i missed the bomb squad session the other day i got abusted wrist and am try to be kind to it before newtons.
now seeing as i have both boards i wouldnt have to choose would i? haha...
nah but seriously dude they are both very different boards but at the same time two extremely awesome boards... at the moment im riding both all the time. ive done downhill and freeriding on the killswitch and it feels awesome, now ive gone back to the avenger for downhill and im loving it and soon enough i'll start busting it out freeride styles. im still trying to figure out which one i like more myself, they are both epic...
but for a serious all rounder i would say go the killswitch (unless you have tiny feet coz its a wide board... suits shoe size 10 and up really)
i am currently using the wheels on my shortboard(just testing them out) but if you are interested i can sell them to you for like, $50-$60. And one of the wheels has a minor chip in the side but it makes pretty much no difference.
nick.
nah dude my dad wont let me get leathers, without leathers i cant safely go fast so i cant go fast if u get wat i mean, yeh i'll see you at maccas at 955 on sat, i might be able to get away with a jacket and draggins if i'm lucky
No worries mate, I was just snowed under and the decks were buried in the back of the storeroom.
Realistically, if you are going to buy a foamie you need to put quality trucks on it (Radikal, GOG, etc) if you have a limited budget, buy the trucks first then get the deck. Good trucks will work on a cheap board but a good board won't perform on cheap trucks.
Direct deposit works best for me... these my details but other methods are good...

If you could throw $215 in that'd be perfect.
Swing me your address so the Isis has a place to be
ok... I won't hold the Isis for you, and I don't know if my mate will be cool with just the 200.
I'll let you know and if lady luck is on your side it's yours at the end of the month.
