  • Callum O'callaghan-daft

cool, cre8ive sk8? (bought my board from him so) will they slide like the ones i have now? was that what you were riding ching?....hehe they made funny sounds

    Fendy

They won't be as smooth. Maybe you should try the freerides. 83a orangatang durians. I could bring them to our next sesh and u can try them out
  • Gilbert

hey callum, i can give you my older gen 50degree randals for $45, i think they'll work much better than 42degree on your dh race, thing is that they don't have kingpins in them so you'll have to use the kingpins that came with your force trucks, is that alright? and i'll toss in a bunch of khiro and stock randal bushings in as well (i got lots of them lying around). if you want, i've got a set of 93a venom barrels that i'd let go for $5
  • stephen.mhsrider

Or you could get race formulas (the yellow wheels that i were using)

    Ching

i was using the 80A wheels. definitely dont slide as well as yours. and i like those funny noises. its so noisy it makes me feel like im putting alot of effort into my slides :)

    Fendy

makes u sound like ur farting as u slide
  • Callum O'callaghan-daft

awsome man 50$ and ill take as many bushingsas you got so i can play around :-)
do you recon ill need to wedge them at all?
wheres the best place to find wheel's? you dont like the flys much do you fendy?
  • stephen.mhsrider

gilbert, i dont think you can remove the force kingpin, it is abit short anyway. I would go by some 2.5" kingpins online or at your local skate shop
  • Gilbert

with 50degree plates you wont need to wedge anything, your board does that for you just fine. you can get wheels from ado at cre8ive skate or boardshop.com.au

    Fendy

i love the flies for speed but not sliding. It's easier to slide offset wheels compared to centre set but the good thing bout the flies is that u can flip it around if it starts coning which will definitely happen with the way you bend your trucks haha. Just get wheels from hopkin or ado.

i would like to stay away from that place for a while. I'm getting pretty bad reactions from those bug bites... The inflammation is spreading
  • Callum O'callaghan-daft

oh hamish, if you bring the madrid i want to try injecting glue and press/clamping the nose before cuting it...chingslide ay?

    sean meaney

  • Callum O'callaghan-daft

While i m doing nothing in class...my dad got a little over enthusiastic about a year ago and bought 5, 1981 300 td merc wagons origanaly the plan was to use them for his company but never happend, one he's useing as a bash rally car, my brother bought one and I have one, ones a parts car but there's one more, I had a quick chat to him this morning about useoing it as a taxi car, its got 8 seats, its desal, reliable and best of all they were cheap! Were going to cheack it out over the next week to see what needs doing on it but asumeing that it's not much would we all be intersted in useing to to ferry people? We'd have to work a system to cover fuel and matnence cost's but it's better then renting...
Just a thought, should have more detail latter
Btw who can drive in the group anyway?

  • Premium Member

    Ching

me and g can drive but from the sound of it its manual transmission so safer to just let g drive :) i'd be more than happy to chip in for fuel and stuff when we use it.
  • Callum O'callaghan-daft

sorry forgot to say, it auto too...
  • Gilbert

that's perfect, and yeah we'll definitely work out the cost of fuel and maintenance if we were to use it.
  • Ben Shane

fendy: yeah? let me know how much per sheet. =]

saturday: yeah i'm up for it!
  • Hamish

Callum your showing inititive beyond your years.
I'm happy to pore a bit of coin in "8 seats people".
Yes callum I have a full manual licence.
Legaly my troopy can only seat 3.
  • Callum O'callaghan-daft

ok well as far as i know the only mechanical issue is to do with glow pulg's probably not much of an issue, will trap the old man down this by this weekend and do a full rundown and see what needs to be done to make it safe and roadworthy..... sorry to keep bounceing back to this but ado at crative skate suggested bigzig's over o-tangs, saying that o-tangs just dont last...any back up on this becouse i have a new found atraction to destroying wheels! and i dont really want to be spending 100 on wheels to often....

  • Premium Member

    Ching

yeah compared to the bigzigs, otangs wear out fast. especially if you're gonna be sliding them alot (which you do!).
  • Callum O'callaghan-daft

    :-) i like slide! hehehe

  • Premium Member

    Fendy

bigzigs dont' really slide as well as otangs. They're known for their grip
  • stephen.mhsrider

    SECTOR NINE RACE FORMULAS!!!
  • Callum O'callaghan-daft

OK!!! ill check em out! lol, they the yellow ones?
where did you get them and for how much?
  • stephen.mhsrider

hahah yup the yellow ones. You can find them in the quicksilver shop on swanston street in the city for about 90.

  • Premium Member

    sean meaney

big zigs slide, trust me on that, its hard to get them to but once you get them out i find it hard to get them back under myself. you might want to think about the harder ones if your going to slide though
  • Callum O'callaghan-daft

bloody hell iv never seen such a mixed review...not compleatly convinced yet, what duro and size do you ride stephen?

    http://www.silverfishlongboarding.com/forum/longboard-skateboarding-wheels-bearings/69461-sector-9-race-formula-69mm-74mm.html
  • stephen.mhsrider

i ride 76mm and 78A but the higher duros like 80A and 82A would probably last longer
  • Ben Shane

are we going flinders next sunday? =]
  • Oscar

    Yeah im down for flinders.
