who is keen for invaness this weekend? i am real keen to get up there and do some sliding and show you guys what i can do on that shortboard of mine, who else is keen?

I'll be checking the CNC if everything goes according to plan. I'm pretty sure I'll be getting my hands on some Delrin as well, or other self lubing plastic anyone want to test the pucks out for me?

there is a section that you can hit that is alot harder then invaness if you ask me, seen footy of guys rideing it back in the day on freebords and it looks kinda fucked up to hit even with a car tail cos you just pull away from said car. DH board should be here next thursday :D. what time we going to go to dandy???

the section of tourist road i am talking bout is the one you go up coming out of montrose towards invaness. this sat we will get the train from melb centeral and go up via croyden (alot faster) to invaness and play it by ear as to if we hit the tourist road, if you guys are keen to leather is a must i would say or atleast kevlars

ok so who is keen for an event in melb, i been thinking somthing combineing a race and reg skate comp would be the only way we could run it due sponsorship needs and turn out. was thinking flagstaff gardens would be good if we setup a long jump comp too (just big gap that gets bigger and skaters ollie it) and some dhish stuff +slideing. whats your thaughts, i am only going to try this if we can get other people to help out with organisation

flagstaff paths aren't wide and long enough for dh or sliding comp.

dh/slide sesh at eadgewater?? would there be a decent place for the regular skate stuff as well?

I've got a mate who's getting into skating so we should have one more pretty soon, he's going to Canada in 3 weeks and picking up a board from landy while he's there, then bringing it back.

hey so me g and fendy are thinking of renting a car. but we need to know whos willing to chip in and split the cost.

the cheapest is a 4 seater car which would cost 25 per person plus gas.

we could also get a 5 seater if more are interested i think it'll be around the same price as well.

i'm happy to come as long as it's not cheese grater...i'll be sliding though because it's the only thing i can do..

um, what if i can borrow a 4wd drive for the day and all we gotta pay is gas?

yeah i'll chip in for gas. im really keen on taking that run from sassafras to the basin. it looks sweeet. 6.5km

what's the run like anyway? traffic...gradient, pavement type etc?

cant be sure of traffic, pavement looks good, not sure about gradient, but it should be less steep than inverness or equal to, but its nice and long so we could definitely hit some good speeds if we tuck all the way

and yes sean if you can get the 4wd that would be brilliant, but will your mom allow it?

I'm not sure then. At inverness i could just slide the hairpin or the first part before the first corner. They're plenty steep enough. I can't do any speed stuff, board's too flexy and my shoe's about to break through, I'll get a new sole soonish though.

oh on the tourist road there is a section where no car is needed to hit which is alot heftier then invaness, traffic is not too bad but your never going to get it good on the tourist road. There are alot of freeborders coming this weekend so yeah, i might bail if you guys are that keen on the car just cos i dont want to be torn in the middle

no worries sean, we'll scout out the roads first so we'll know if its worth hitting again.

Hey there dudes and dudettes. Im heading over to Melb for a couple of days before flying out to the states for Mary Hill. I will arrive on the 19th and if memory serves I fly out to the states on the 21st so I would be keen to catch up for a carpark sesh or something in that time. Throwing it out there, will keep you posted and we can plan some stuff closer to the dates maybe.

well on the 20th for me works, being a thrusday night or even the wednesday night would be good, keep us posted
