Yoyoyo! Me and Anton are planning a trip to Byron bay this weekend. Who is keen for some beers, skate, surf and shoots some stuff for our movie. If anyone between Brisbane and Byron needs a ride to Byron just let me know and we can pick you up on the way.
We're also driving down to Coneheadcup round 1 in two weeks if someone need a ride then, and if you don't have a plane ticket to "beat the basted" yet you can hitch a ride with us as well.

Jaujaujau.... We had a shitty skate in byron yesterday. Tried to find some hill but didnt really. Next time its bananas and stuff...! Anyway, Theres a party witch hot swedish chicks in Byron on friday ;) My birthday is on sunday and one of the girls birthday is on thursday so friday it is....but thats not all! On saturday a new club or something opening and they have a massive pool....Everyone can come and bring their own booze! On sunday were gonna have a masive skate somwhere and on Monday Fat freddys drop is playing th Great Northern so let me know if u want tickets boyz!! Long time no see....

Em, suddenly occurred to me I think I'm the only Gold Coast skater down here at the CHC. Will do what i can, but after not skating competitively for over 8 years and maintaining "grom" status don't expect too much. esp as the ditch is "on" at the mo and after an accident in a bowl in '91 I really don't do 5ft ramps very well (I found my feminine pain side whilst being pumped with morphine....oh and my business head but they wouldn't sell it to me) Do i get a cold beer or two next weekend for holding our end up here? Fr those without excuses pure blonde is the go....easy on the waistline you know >;0)

didn't make the party but learnt an awful lot; got an awful lot to do in a short space of time and had a truck load of fun, no a convoy of fun. More importantly everyone made sure the family enjoyed the day too.....which means I get to have more days and weekends out.....my next CHC is Melbourne so this week building a ramp to practice off and then spending many hours practicing anyone on the Goldy up for LOADS of cones give me a shout.

This really is bloody minded slow news day rubbish journalism. Though I know it wouldn't be the case, Jeremy has been made to come across as very cavalier and the headline "deadly skate craze" only goes to show the angle the editor was happy to cover. As for Cr Robbins remarks, on page 3 of the paper there lies a surfer in a hospital bed, how much tax money and donations are used each weekend for these guys who risk others lives for their sports; how many beach goers risk the lives of others with their stupidity in our waters each year. Cyclists heaving in packs on the Gold Coast roads reaching the same speeds as cars in places with just a helmet and no leathers. Skateboarding was always about downhill it's where it started; the ollie didn't exist on the streets when I started skating. Yes we know skateboarding will never have an acceptable face according to Cr Roberts, who I'm sure can show she has never backed skate park funding in order to help the local community, can't she?
I guess as I wasn't there nor have I, as yet, taken part in any of the "organised" Goldy runs I can't really say too much. Though this article coming from the same press that gave Daddow and the boys so much positive coverage on their build up last year and also recently, leaves a bad taste in my mouth and should be replied to in full by those that were there. Perhaps invite the journo out for a propa skate so they can see what we are really about, how old the majority of us really are and just what safety protocols we have, even if there are unwritten.
Don't let this chance slip by lads! show them there are two sides to this...and as a qualified Sports Medicine Australia sports trainer and sports therapist I'm happy for it to be known I have always held my first aid services and clinic door open to any DH skaters living or visiting the Goldy....

As I said last week Jeremy if the press thing had gone the other way you would have been a hero; and now to this week with our superintendent giving us permission to ride marked roads in the latest weekend bulletin offering; not only have you balanced last weeks poor reporting but finished the episode with the DH boys looking bloody good; nice one mate.

Okay next weekend I'm in for those that are around if anyone is up for a roll...tomorrow I need to get some hills on film (which will probably involve the wife filming me sliding down hills on my back..all good!) and then for the past 3 days I've promised the boy I'd take him to movieworld as he is now tall enough for his first ride there....can't deny him that!!

well all just a bit of an update with things in Early Land, myself and Austin have been working round the clock to finalize the relaunch of a new range of Early Products we are looking at a good quiver of skateboards to suit all the different skateboarding styles around, a range of hardware. Also a new range of safety gear with Helmets just a bucket, knees n elbow pads and slide/race gloves and a sic helmet Bag. Coming a bit later more new decks a mens and maybe kids clothing range and a Travel bag. The website is just being finalized for upgrade as is the new international Early Team Riders roaster. So real exciting times ahead i hope you all get stocked! And a BIGG EIWU!! for our mate yatesy doing the early team proud with a huge!! 6th in the Gold Rush mate the training looks like it's paying off i say nice one brother nice one! Beers on me at the airport Jaxo sends his high fives!!!

skated today with nath, austin, ash and leeso, all the boyz are heading os over the next couple of weeks so next Sunday start Early 9-10ish down at mine for a tolga session 2b2s and bonogin speed runs bit of a practise session to send the boyz out on!! love to see as many there as possible skate till 3ish and then have a bbq and beer's if your old enough to drink..
