Its the side with dozens of skateboarders hanging out. This is a simple test. If you fail to locate the crew, you are not worthy. Just turn up look for skaters and say hi. Asking a thousand questions on here that have already been explained will not help your quest and will only make you look like a scooter rider.

  • Maximilian McInerheney

Another well attended Bomb Squad on Thursday....full respect to the Motorcycle Police, played it very cool - little wave to us as they went by. Tight.

    Thanks everyone......

Bombsquad last night was a nice little roll with Chris Renz on our mind. The mood was a little sombre but there was a little time for reflection.

Simon brought Chris's helmet along. Daniel got to wear it, proudly it must be said.

At one point the question was raised - should we hit the Comm Bank carpark, followed by a simple question "what would Chris Renz do". Simply answered with "OK - lets hit the carpark".

There are many good stories of our times with Chris that will continue to live in us.

One run of the Opera House was all we dared do with all of the Madama Butterfly opera punters creating a traffic jam so we got above ground and played tourist just looking at the Sydney Harbour Bridge...as we stood there the ferry Chris would have been on, swung past on it's journey to Manly.

Skate in Peace Chris Renz, our friend. You are sorely missed.

The stories are many and they will be told, but for now....may the grief be short and the memory long.

    Peace.

I just heard about the accident involving a skater south of sydney. I'm sorry to hear that he was one our own and a fellow skater of the bomb squad. I never met Chris but he must of been rad to show up to bomb squad every thursday. Thats were you hone your skills, thats where you eat it and walk away. I hope everyone is supporting each other and talking the whole thing through, also spare a thought for the crew he was with and how they are coping with losing a mate on a hill.

Thank you Father Blackwood. Chris Renz was indeed a really nice guy.

We held the Renz's Riot tribute Skateboard race out near Jenolan Caves yesterday in a lovely rural setting, on a particularly challenging stretch of hill.

There were over 100 people there on the day with over 80 riders from all over Australia with few international riders present to pay tribute to Chris's life. QLD, VIC ACT and NSW South Coast + NACCOS were very well represented.

The riders held a minute silence at the top of the hill before their first session and followed up with some serious downhill racing. The day was beautiful and the scenery was spectacular. We delivered a eulogy to acknowledge and celebrate Chris, followed by the podium.

The brotherly love that the Skateboarding community have so genuinely and unconditionally given has pulled the community together to try and heal. This tribute race and the outpouring from our community is something that I hope that his family can take some solace in.

I sincerely wish that, perhaps at a later time, Chris's family will appreciate that the brotherly love for Chris was shared by his many, many friends around the world.

Chris loved coming to BombSquad for that is where his mates were.

The support is strong Oz...we look after our own.

    T'was a day of reflection.

Special acknowledgement for Rob, Maga, Duddy and many others for making the day one to remember.

Peace and luv to the missus.

    Brothers and Sisters,

A note from Aldo Dezani which needed to be shared.

Today, Friday 20th there will be an opportunity to see Chris in the church at Manly from 1pm.

I advise you get there at 12:30 the coffin will be open for a short ten minutes from 1:00-1:10 after that it will remain closed from 1:10-2:00pm.

If you don't wish to see his body but pay your respects keep this in mind.

The address is number 4 West Promenade Manly, at Manly Village Uniting Church. You are able to leave photos, flowers cards or write a message on the coffin.

Sunday 22nd February 2013. Unfortunately, after speaking to council, we are unable to have an event at Shelly beach due to council restrictions so we have decided to have a 'wake' for Chris at the Steyne hotel in Manly. This is a short walk from ferry and public transport and will commence from 3pm.

All are invited, also anyone that is underage will be able to come in, accompanied by an adult or guardian.

Don't bring food, we will supply pizza and a few nibbles.

Afterwards we can always venture down to the beach but that is up to you guys. But for now the Steyne is the best option considering wet weather and drinking laws on the beach.

I look forward to seeing his friends, manly-ites, skaters, college buddies, work colleagues and housemates and all that knew him together in celebration of a beautiful life and mourning of the loss of a true friend.

    Peace
