G'day met a guy today at the markets who told me about this site said I could find a group on here with Sydney skates so I guess this is it. Pretty new to the whole skating dig but trying to get on the board as much as I can, would love to come out one time and go for a bit of a cruise.

Ay Rob I appreciate the offer mate but I had a stack recently from some "unexpected" downhill riding (read: I didnt mean to go so fast, ate pavement) and I'm nursing a bit of gravel rash and some stitches for my efforts so for now I'll be takin it slow. Maybe when I've got the skills (and the balls) I'll take you up on it haha.

BTW I meant to ask, I wanna buy some protective gear, hindsight bein the beautiful thing it is. The budget is pretty tight but I still want to cover my knees, elbows, wrists and head. It sounds pretty extensive but this is because if I get nailed I can't work... and that = big problems.
Can anyone recommend some good, cheap pads/helmet?

Get Helmet and gloves first. Don't buy wrist guards, just stick with slide gloves. Fitz has some cheap gloves. Learn to stop. Speed should rarely make you crash. Fear of speed is what makes you crash

Ay guys wondering if I could get a bit of advice, a mate is looking to get a longboard around Christmas and I was wonderin if you had any recommendstions for any good cheaper boards? Around 150-200$ mark. I realise no board will be amazing around this price but figure might as well ask.

i just watched gopro ad and had a thought of using 2<3 gopro at once filming in front and behind, close and fucking gnarly, though the city or down a park,

hey, guys... i'm new to this group... but me and my bro have been longboarding for a bit... can someone give me the lowdown on what kind of events and places you guys skate at?...

There's no better place to hone your skills then Bomb Squad, you might have a bit of homework, but we all have a bit of that each week. Was good to have yourself and the other new guys along.

I reckon thursday next week would be a bit iffy, since some of us have to go to family things etc...
But the thursday after seems like it would be perfect, we could even go earlier since most people will be on holidays, not just groms.
