anyway, fendy, keep the 23rd clear and get nips to link you on facebook once i put it up tonight, there is going to be a race on that you will want to skate, 5 hairpins, 6 turns all up, then a dope slide compage afterwards
just signed up to the site, found it through silverfish,
super keen to come along to sessions, been hitting up fitzroy gardens the last few tuesday nights... but so far has only been with 3 other mates of mine. where do you guys ride that night? or mostly just sundays?
I'm without a board at the moment, waiting for my Nelson Spindrift. It shud be here real soon, if I have it by Tuesday post here if ur going to Fitzy n I'll probably come down ;)
hey simon, tomorrow night 5.00 at pipe makers park there is a contest going on, its a lazy kinda freeride jam sorta deal if you want to come ride some hills.
paulo, i havnt had a sesh with you in ages, let me know if your keen to catch up and have a roll, i am un able to ride next week during the week as i am on a film shoot, but when i get back we should go ride, do you still have my number?
howdy, i'm new to this site, found out about it on youtube, and i'm pretty keen on skating with you guys some time soon. anyways, do you guys know some rad carparks in hte city?
hey is anyone between 18 and 24 keen for the addidas challenge? basically a team of guys skating for 60 hours straight..... i am keen to log atleast 18-24 hours myself if we can get enough guys willing to skate for that long we should defs put a team in
i have skated 12 hours and 135km, seb has done 20 hours and i think over 200km, brady isnt elegable but he did 24 and 270. i feel more then fit enough at the moment to be able to do 2 shifts of 20. i found the biggest thing is mindset, i rocked up and did my 12 hours in the dark after being at work for 12 hours. if people really want it and want to have a go i think we should start really training. i spoke to seb and he is keen to do it with me so that leaves us needing one person
fendy, i think thats abit harsh, considering thus far they have been working well and there has been a solid turn out at all of the events, but everyone is intitled to their opinion on things like this and i think its awesome that you feel like posting things like that on a public forum instead of contacting me personally is the right thing to do
and fendy if you think you can do things better, by all means do so, i would love to see you put countless hours of work in to events only to be insulted by someone who does very little for longboarding in melbourne
i am keen for fitzy tomorrow night.... maybe.... i am defs down for abit of switch backs shredding this week, groms who are on holidays i will be running a skills sesh there on wednesday next week, call me on 0400083729, the idea of it is to teach guys how to ride technical stuff and teach some cornering skills at safe speeds in a controlled environment
in the CBD, havnt quite decided between carlton and flagstaff gardens at this stage, or a time, but it will be around mid day with a meet up at fed square
wednesday 1.30pm flagstaff gardens, after a quick session moving to carlton gardens for the remainder of the event, bring a helmet and gloves if you own them as well as your board
on 2nd thoughts, we will be going to switch backs (in essendon) because its legal and way more fun, meet up at essendon station at 2pm, its on the cragieburn line and about 20mins from the CBD, this hill is really worth coming to compared to the city stuff
you can either meet up at 1.00 at fed square, from there we will be getting the 1.27 cragieburn train from flinders street to essendon station and then getting the 2.12 465 bus along buckley street to the corner of lilly street and then skating in the near by reserve
or meet at essendon station at the 465 bus terminal at about 2
or meet us at the corner of buckley street and lilly street in essendon.
those crew who know which part of the path to use feel free to jsut rock up when ever and meet us there.
basically the idea is to teach guys some board control and some pack riding skills in a safe, controlled and legal environment. helmets and slide gloves are required, i also reccomend full pads if you have them, those guys with a full face helmet its probobly not required, i personally use a half shell here and the only guy who rocks a full face is rupert cos he is gangsta and all with his icaro
Rupert has an icaro. But all the same, its just as unsafe as the charlie that he has. Paragliding helmets look cool as but are not made for the shit we put them through.
Ans switchbacks is very fun for those thinking of going. Best part about it as Sean is that it is legal. Super tight hairpins and footpath riding really makes you tighten your lines.
Not gonna be able to able to make it, aw fuck it. I think im going to ditch my lecture to come to this thing.
its a fairly good rookie spot too, about a carlane wide and heaps of fun.
best part is very little to hit if you drift out, i have come off on all of the turns and have walked away fine, the fastest part of the run actually consists of long soft grass with nothing sharp or nasty in it, i have come into the turn, straightened out and tried to run it out a few times and walked away with not even a scratch or a bruise on me
hey all , im over from the west n havent bring my board. saw a few gnar hills round the house im stayin in n was wondering if someone could lend me a board to ride? also was wondering wen the next meetup is ?
