hey fendy, dont be such a twat, this is good life advise, i gave sam my oppinion of the hill and one of the rules, which i both think sucked, the vibe was good and getting that many peoeple to a hill (no matter how slow and boreing it is) is good for the scene so it was a good event, not to good racing
guys, the main point of the event is NOT TO RACE. it was to get more people out skating together and creating a connection with one of our local shops. the race was just an extra to give people an opportunity to win some swag.
but hey, if you think you're too good enough for that kinda thing and want to whine and bitch to everyone about it then don't show up at the next one.
whatever happened to just enjoying a skate with a bunch of people? not everything is a competition.
Sean, firstly, quoting Dani...PROOF READ. Secondly, I would never take life advice from a failure like you. Thirdly, we were not left with much options on hills we could race on. This was a very short and mellow hill, so we were left with no choice but to make it a semi push race. I agree with Jimmy on making the beginning bit a push race. It extended the track, and it included short boarders whom made up 1/3 of the skaters there. I'm not pissing on your opinions. I'm just giving you a different point of view which may be more mature compared to your's which comes from you being a sore loser.
chign as i said, IT WAS A SICK EVENT, how ever i was dissapointed by the racing myself, and its not even the hill so much, it was the stance some of the guys took about rules, to me that sorta took abit of shine off the event the fact that a few guys where really closed minded about how things where with the event, it was good for longboarding and heaps of people where really stoked and keen for another event, but the common theme was better hills from what people where saying, i didnt hate the hill, i think the pushing rule was stupid and some gates would of been cool, but still it was a fun day and i enjoyed seeing everyone out and just getting to hang out with my brother and a few guys i dont see that much
coming from a guy that lost in the first heat to shortboarders, i don't think his judgments and opinions about the race are valid at all, do we all agree? like ching said it was an event to get everyone together and get a local store involved in the scene. And that it did with tremendous success.
Hemley's are now more than happy to host another even in the coming months, and ppl now know that there's a scene going, and it can only grow from here. No one said the event would be perfect, but its the FIRST LONGBOARD event hosted by a local store, thanks to all the hardwork put in by chings.
Let's not some lying cock-muncher who can't skate (and spell) to save his life, take away the fact that the event succeeded in what it was meant to do.
dont fucking call me a failure fendy, you gotta try and stop these discussions getting personal, we all do myself included, i am not a sore loser, i seriously dont give a fuck about how i did in the event, and i am taking a stance of this is what i have heard talking to the guys who came and rode
Would both of u shut the fuck up!!! The important thing is that im turning my evo into a foamcore and im getting the core CNC'd out tomorrow and is going to be of its face!!! :)-
i was thinking of foam-coring my evo as well but I didn't want to mess up the sticker work i've done on it :/ I think my stickers makes me faster compared to a foam-cored evo
i didnt ejoy the racing, the EVENT WORKED, IT WAS GREAT, I RODE WITH JESSE SIMON ALL THE OLD CREW THAT I WAS GOOD MATES WITH BEFORE I STARTED LONGBOARDING WE HAD SOME SICK FREERIDING SOME AWESOME FREESTYLE GOING ON OFF THE KICKER AND END OF THE DAY THE EVENT WORKED, again i dont think the racing did, i would love to see more events like that without the racing, some slopestyle/freeride stuff would rock cos its what melb has got the hills to support more so then anything and you can shred some stuff like that in the city at a good level, hey i aint a sore loser, i entered for abit of fun with jesse
In other news. I'm getting my knee checked out tomorrow so I'll have a full damage report for anyone who cares.
Does the core need to be CNC'd out? couldn't you just jigsaw it out or something and save the CNC time for something coooool...er? Also, use your big boy words Jesse. haha xD
Yes, this was an attempt at changing the topic ever so slightly.
Totally use the wrong word up there ^ and had to repost. Sorry all
Ching thumbs up for all the work you did
"The Race",
no-one can bitch just cos it didnt suit them on the day,
(inc me, i was way too shagged for a push race)
everyone had the same rules, started the same, and rode the same track,
if you didnt win you lost, pretty simple.
It was great to see the potential numbers for future comps.
Idea for saturday or sunday for those with a long run itch, Jells park would be a fun idea, its been too long since i been there and its a dope DH'ish spot for those who are new to it, its a nice park with a few long runs in it (i think about the 1-1.5km mark) i will probobly head down there this weekend if you want to have a sesh
need some people to take owen around tomorrow (thursday). my knee is still feeling a bit fucked so i'm still not sure if i'll be able to skate. need to heal it up as much for the drift race this weekend. any volunteers?
thursday carparks would be fun, do it semi early and hit up fitzy too.
Also some news
i am going to have a super 16mm test shoot, let me know what nights your free to skate i-max/linkin and edge water i am getting 10mins of stock and want to shoot some danceing, freebording and bombing at my favourite spots to film/ spots i can run a couple of generators, ching i will speak to you about some stoked promo on it if your down to ride in it
