Melbourne Sessions!

i've been to hemleys a few times they didnt seem very friendly towards us especially when we were carrying our longboards in. by "hosting" does this mean they'll be giving us some sponsorship to help us "host" our carpark sessions? :) food and drinks would be nice :)

Dale, what does "then some" mean? lol. and if its top of chirnside scary then it sounds like a good opportunity to kill some wheels haha. how is the traffic, road quality and width?

Road is yummy. Mum says traffic is bad...but it wasn't today, it's a no through road street so it's not like it's a main...width..it's 2 cars wide in most parts, except the hairpin down the very end where it's about 1.5.

basically the whole idea of the hemley thing is to build a relationship with our local shop, the guys who work upstairs have always been stoked when i walk in with my board, thats why i buy gear there, they stock all the top notch stuff and their prices are the same or with in 5 bucks of hopkin. Remember your first sponsor is always your local shop.

yeah i was with sean when we went in and talked to them about it. the guy there was really nice, introduced himself, said he was happy to help, gave me advice on gear, honest advice to add to that. and he even opened up a pacage of new board for us to look at...i think we shouldn't really be looking just a sponsorship but also connection, having more people get in on the longboarding scene...

dom, im using a bell drop now. it's really light and the vision is awesome! i used to ride a motocross helmet its kinda heavy but i got it cheap 69 bucks off this shop on elizabeth st in the city. motorbike helmets are bulky but they're the safest. so it's a trade off really.

last time i was at hemleys they were selling otangs for 120, so unless hop is selling them for 115 i dont think they're affordable. there are plenty of longboarders around melbourne but they like to stick to themselves. so we'll see how this thing with hemley's goes

dom, i use a nitro motocross helmet, very good lid, bit heavy but its a solid lid.

i actually asked about some tangs and got quoted 110 for the new form freeride tangs. fuck its a way of getting everyone together, other guys who ride shop there, they are gonna see the posters and hopefully go ride with us some time

hey guys, check this out, its supposed to be the steepest bitumen road in victoria, and it'll be near public transport, i dunno if its good to skate on but it says its bitumen. i'll go check it out when i have time, but its supposed to be very, very steep....let me know if anyone is farmiliar with it. cheers

yeah sam fendy pointed that out to us awhile back. apparently it just drops. wouldn't recommend any beginners to try it out. you definitely need to slide your way down.

yeah ok cool, well ive been getting predrift and i can coleman fine, so i guess i could take it bit by bit. has fedy actually been there? was it worth it? would u need leathers and full face?

steep doesnt always mean fun...even if you can slide well haha

it is apparently too fucked for skateboarding but i dont think anyone has been up there and checked it out in the flesh, i am thinking i might go up during the week and sus it out before i start uni, it would be the perfect spot to film for my uni final

Hi all, I'm new here...
I've been cruising around on a longboard for a fair while but i'm only just now getting more into it...
I've been building (and riding) my own shortboards over the last few months but i've only got around to starting on a longer one today.
Once i've got this latest build finished and set-up (1 maybe 2 weeks) i'll be keen to come to a few sessions and meet the crew.

yeah sounds good h can, just post up when your keen to ride and it should be good, every sunday night there are rides going on with me and dan if people want to join

also, just decided, gonna do some more spot hunting tomorrow arvo, let me know if your keen to ride

hey guys,have u herd mcuh of this 'day of longboarding' thing on this sat,i met the event co-ordinator and sponser the other night and he said he's hoping to get around 40 or so longboarders to meet at flinders at 2pm this sat to go on a bit of a flatland freeride kinda skate around the south side and endin bac in the city for a piss up at section 8,hes also asked me for sugestions on where to skate and any good places we can stop and few sessions of wat ever as its designed for people of all abilities,i dont no much around that area,so if u guys hav got any ideas and/or are comin let me no,cause iv got his buisness card and he is open to suggestion

sean come on man, its a good thing that fast times are even supporting a longboarding event, sure in the past they haven't left the best impression on us longboarders but its good that they're supporting it. we should appreciate it.
