sweet for sunday,me,asto and a couple of the other boys are gonna skate the city bike link that follows the river in to the city, were gonna start at rushall station on the epping line, its about 6-7 km long and plenty of nice little downhill runs, nothin crazy but similar to fitroy gardens, which is where we're gonna skate to and maybe the car park after,if any of u guys are keen, let me no,we want to meet at rushall around 4:30 - 5:00,cause by the time we get to fitzroy gardens it should be dark at not many people.Ill keep u posted on the time and like i said let me no either on here or my no. 0422363375
    might c u there
  • Ellery Cochrane

spent the day on hamish's bomber today around mt martha and saftey beach area. i have two main conserns, cant check slide at all, mangaged to throw it 180 once though.. and i feel like once i got fast on it, it "lag's" i thought this would be due to the wheel's (gumball's 76mm 84a) maybe im just used to my old oj bowl wheels that are a bit harder.... was handleing foot brakeing at high speed's though and felt reativly controled....

  • Premium Member

    Fendy

harder to slide on topmount. Drop thru's great for sliding

  • Premium Member

    sean meaney

hey callum gonna be up frankston on friday the way its looking if you want to skate some bowl
  • Callum O'callaghan-daft

  • Premium Member

    Fendy

u guys should meet somewhere in between.
  • Hamish

Put some oil in berings the wheels should go fast big wheels take longer to wind up to top speed .
She will slide but you gona have to have a hand down or 2 .
  • Ben Shane

    delayed response:

I still maintain dervish = bouncy = fun!!

    one sentence > essay :p

of course, all these things are a matter or preference at the end of the day. Really stiff decks make my feet ache (cuz i commute plenty) and topmounts are harder to push. >.<

and fendy,,, i have other decks.. they're just not longboards. grrr
  • Callum O'callaghan-daft

iv just bought a brand new landy dh race for 200....

  • Premium Member

    Fendy

    i hate that board
  • Callum O'callaghan-daft

lol, ill see how it go's....

  • Premium Member

    Ching

its still better than the omni i reckon. only problem is its not wide enough for my preference. other than that looks like a pretty sweet deck for a dh starter
  • stephen.mhsrider

how are you liking the killswitch fendy? worth the money?
  • Gilbert

i didnt ride it much but i failed to see how its cost that much more, but i'd wait for fendy to say something about it. at the end of the day though its not thaaaat much more expensive.

oh stephen i just realised nola decks have flat caves, and i'm more of a radial/tube kinda guy.
  • stephen.mhsrider

ahk then, was the concave and stuff as wonderful as it has been said to be?btw, flatcave is the win :P
You wouldnt have been looking at a bombhills would you? because i just sold mine..
  • Gilbert

hahah nah, i was thinking of getting a dregs alpine and cutting into an s9 race, apparently it has the same concave as the race. why did you sell your bombhills?
  • stephen.mhsrider

dregs alpines are pretty hard to find, was looking for one a while back. I sold my bombhills for money to buy an asym or dropspeed. topmounts are nice and all but i really prefer drop thrus and drop decks, especially because i like to slide and stuff

    sean meaney

stephen get a bloody 39 sun from landy with some earthwing slide a wheels and some randals

  • Premium Member

    Fendy

The reason killswitch is so expensive is because it's the first of its kind. The amount of money that went into designing it is probably what made it so expensive. It's definitely overpriced but that's how new ideas are usually. I wouldn't be surprised if the idea was copied by some other board building company and the price is reduced thereafter. I got the board because no one else in Melbourne seem to be getting it and we all needa have a go at this new design ;) I have no regrets buying it because it is a wicked board but ultimately, it is still overpriced for what it is.

    sean meaney

fendy your pretty much right about the price of the killswitch, its a amazing cave on the board but you cant justify that sorta price for the concave like that, its all just a cave on a nice deck to be honest
  • Gilbert

asym is topmount isnt it stephen?

  • Premium Member

    Ching

so who's getting brianne's board then?
  • stephen.mhsrider

asym is topmount and slightly dropped like a killswitch. It also has steeper concave on the toeside. I would like to drop it thru though...
Im hoping that ado is getting the newest asyms in (not on the rbros site yet)
if not, then i'll probably get a drop speed

  • Premium Member

    sean meaney

well ching your the girl of the team i reckon you should be on it, you really need a spud though you midgit

    diancuk
  • Gilbert

i've been checking out the asym and i'm starting to like it as well, where would you get the newer version anyway?
  • stephen.mhsrider

i dunno sean, id be more than happy to ride the Isis, it looks alot better than the killswitch IMO. http://www.raynelongboards.com/mm5/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=RL&Product_Code=ISIS&Category_Code=BOARDS

and gilbert, A Drain has 2 asyms coming in a goofy and a regular. They were just built so im hoping that they are the newer versions
  • stephen.mhsrider

link didnt work the first time
  • Gilbert

well you got dips on the regular so I need to find another source, i like that the new asym has the more aggresive cave at the back, thats the only reason why i didnt like the old one.
  • stephen.mhsrider

get the brianne davies model, its like an asym without the asymettry but with pleasure dome and epic graphics... LOL
  • Gilbert

a little too expensive for my budget.

  • Premium Member

    Fendy

Brianne looks so happy. How can u not want to buy this board?

  • stephen.mhsrider

how do you get to chirnside park and what is it like? i might be able to come for a ride on saturday...
  • Gilbert

train to lilydale then bus, its just a steep hill that leads to a right and left hand corner, awesome for sliding
