Awsome see u there hopfully. but i cant go to flinders carpark because im getting my longboard fixed. thats why i want to do slalom now, i do slalom when i have no longboard.

bring your slide deck if you go to the carpark callum, if you cant get home from it you can crash at my place if need be as i am only 15 mins off the city

gday once again guy, just wanted to say thank's to evryone but espesaly to sean for sunday night even though i had to run way too soon.
yesterday i picked up a set of force r7's and some 83a speed demons now my plan is once i get the dervish to set it up with the speed demons and some soft bushings and take the o-tangs off to put on the r7's then ill have the devish as a freeride cruzer ans all i will need is a deck for a dh, i was thinking the omni drop...so i would be left with - dervish with paris's, red's and 83a speed demons and omni drop with force r7, modus titaniums and 80a 4 presdent o-tangs (may be to soft?)... how does that sound?

Callum, Omni's not a good dh board if ur a heavy guy. It is pretty flexy for a dh board.
Ellery, we'll definitely sesh flinders this sunday night if ur getting a bunch of guys to come.

Danm, I am about 70kg's... without a huge budget and keen on a drop what should I look at?

you could get a rayne hellcat. It's an amazing freeride + dh board. Come to a flinders session and try mine or ching's out. Mine is the abbatis hellcat which is slightly thinner and lighter than ching's. She has the '09 hellcat. I ride my hellcat with bear grizzly trucks which are great for carving/freeriding and when u flip the hangers, it's a dh truck.

my option for u is to not buy a dervish+ another dh board but instead, buy just the hellcat

if you're really keen on dh dont get the dervish cause you're just gonna sell it off later to get better dh gear (like me). But if you can afford it why not?

the hellcat is an awesome beginner board its a good mix of dh and freeride. don't get the omni. sean may say its awesome but even he wont dare take it past 50ks

Well I think ill take the dervish, id like to do a bit of free rideing anyway, plus the helmet will keep mum happy :-) and to be completly honest I payed 50$ for the freeboard so....SCORE... and seeing as I already have trucks and wheels's its easy enugh for me to save up a bit to buy a decent deck now...the omni was apelling due to its price and its a drop, I like drops....what's the diffrence in the ride between a drop and a drop though? Hellcats a drop though yes?

a dropped board is when the standing platform is dropped. but a drop through just means your trucks are dropped through the deck.

mate, lets put it this way i only ride drops cos i got one cheap and the other free, if i had it my way i would be on a drop through dech because they are the best of both worlds

But see if I have the dervish as a pure freeride I can aford to go all out on dh...

landy switch/dually, rayne nemesis/hellcat all good for freeride and dh,

dervish is not a good freeride board imo. It is too narrow (actually depends on your shoe size. i'm an 11 and 10'' width is perfect for me), but since you're getting it from a trade, then there's really not much u can do about it because no one's gonna trade u any other board for a freebord. Dervish will be an awesome board to start out on but once u've ridden other boards, ur nvr gonna go bak to the dervish. Dervish is great for dancing and pop-up tricks.
If you have a strong street skating background, i recommend that u get a top mounted speedboard for dh. You will probably feel a lot more comfortable on them. Stability is really a matter of opinion. Some prefer top mounted, others prefer dropped.

and don't listen to someone who's only deck they've ever owned is a dervish (Ben). If you ever have time, come by my place and u can try out my boards. I have 2 drop thrus (dervish & hellcat), 1 topmount (killswitch), and 1 drop down (evo).

Lol I suck balls at street style, big bowl's big verts and old school freestyle is what im good at...

and u use top mounted boards for all of them...

topmount rules! kill switch with its lame 3/8 drop drools!

killswitch is a top mount as far as i'm concern. I'm sure that drop was unintentional.

Would really like the chance to try some diffrent types of decks, where abouts are you based fendy?....Hamish has been kind enugh to lend me his madrid downhill bomber, (top mount)...with randel r11 and 84a gumballs...iv so far only bombed a straitline witha backpack full of crap and my bowl deck...it does feel high though, I don't know if that's just me bitching...I will try and get it out a bit more tommrow but I does feel quite strange...
