This is a group for W.A riders to join, so we can organise skate meets, downhill runs, carpark runs, city runs, Rottnest island runs and comps... all welcome.. lets get the ball rolling to build gatherings as held on the east coast....
PEACE HILL SESH: sunday 25th july, come on down, starting around 10:30,
might sesh "the coombe" and those paths in minum cove (red roads place)
peace out :P
and are there many guys here who are more into slower curvier runs rather than speed runs? i mean the speed stuff is cool, but too much for a humble beginner like myself! heh
yeah, i tweaked my shlongboard today with softer wheels n trucks from my other deck, its interesting..
i also checked out the loaded tam tien today, man that was a niiice board! also checked out some sector 9 boards - saw a nice one with double trucks and drop through. what do u guys think of those?
cam and connor both of you pipe down and stop being pussies, if you said it then admit to it and don't be a bitch so we can rip the dude who's being an ass.
i'm keen for sunday but i'll be getting there early, like 9 o'clock and leaving just after 10, i got shit to do.
ah yeah, peace hill being johnson parade.. i have skated down the grass near that on my doublekick/offroad board years ago... and ive thought about the coombe before too as a potential good slider spot (but crazy steep spot!)
make your gloves like ian said, ends up being cheaper and you can buy some corrian pucks. :)
and raine i do, i got a fricken chem exam the next day. :/
Nick, it's a pretty fun little hill, but it requires a speed check i'm pretty sure, but there's a carpark to practice slides in or you can do a little bit of the hill itself.
and the coombe isn't that steep it's just the cat eye/brick combination that makes it hard. :)
and paul, don't get the double trucks, they are super turney and carvey, but you will get epic speed wobbles when you're not going very fast. :/
i have old kevlar motorbike gloves which i will modify to suit soon... i bought some bunnings gloves but they are too loose and thus dont give me much faith in using them.. i feel very secure in my motorbike gloves..
im still working out which elbow and knee pads and board to get.. im liking the look and feel of the tan tien.. tested one at momentum claremont yesterday, really nice guy who runs the place - don't know why you wouldn't shop there really Victor..
Paul/All- http://www.casf.com.au/colors.aspx
go there and order some FREE CORIAN samples!
ill be there but not til later, Connor what's your number in case you've moved on?
Ah mate I actually shop there and the guy who runs the place is cool... I was just saying that I'd already checked both the Claremont and Freo locations and they were out and on back order. But, I had a missed call this avro from a blocked number which may have been them to tell me some had arrived.
Side note: I tested the tan tien at Momentum Freo last week and I'm pretty sure it's going to be my next buy unless I find something better.
hey all i just joined this group ive been skating for a while and would like to start doing some amatuer downhill, im not an expert but im no begginner either. are there many get togethers or skate events that happen in perth that i dont know about
yeah, we skate pretty often. usually on tuesday and thursday nights some people hit up the stackers (car parks) in the city and usually end up with a bomb of st georges terrace after 11pm.
otherwise usually on sundays we go out to the hills for a bit of speed.
this sunday there's a meet starting at peace hill in mossy park, which will probs end up moving to the coombe and the minum cove, all in mossy park.
Hi all ..... just found this website ....... been wondering for quite a while if there was a group of downhill skateboarders in Perth ..... and voilá .... what a wicked surprise .....keen to go skating with yous anytime ....... i'm in freo ........ I noticed in the last posts that there's heaps of streets in Mosman !?!?!? sick !!!
