RSVP'd. I'm interested though, when you say "we are planning to get the road closed" have you actually discussed with the council the plan to host a race there or just close the road? A race is a lot of work, so I hear, do you have anybody to help out or any experience
ive been hitting it for a while in order for a race to transpire, alot will need to be done. Im shit keen for this to happen somethings to keep in mind; cyclists, rides to the top etc. lets see this happen!!
we have contacted the council and they have approved the closing of the road for a race we are just needing to get the ok from the police and kiosk at the top.
we are aware that alot of work is needed so if you are interested in help that would be great.
if anyone has any experince or any ideas please lets us know.
dude not trying to ruffle any feathers, and im totally down for this,
but
even if we can get closure and approval from both the police and kiosk,
we still need a lot of work to be put in, as well as money, for things like
haybales, if we are going to have the bottom corner in the track we will definetally need haybales, and one or two of the top corners could easily end someone without protection.
also
who will be running the heats, placements and draw,
as well as the actual track itself, and what sort of system were going to be having for the start and finish..
if i was doing this i would cap it at 64, for stand up and maybe allow a luge bracket as well.
If you only have the hill for one day the fairest way to do it is random draw with double elimination so if there are any stupid hard heats then the guys who get knocked out have another chance to advance and everyone is gaurenteed to get 2 heats+ practice runs
you should have heats like it was at monkypig derby at G5... like 4 heats. 4 people in each little heat in side the heats if that makes sense.... would you say mt gravatt is like hillclimb or faster?
