Know how yto either shutdown slide or footbrake........if you can do either of these ok, come and you will learn how to do it better as you get taught or watch and learn....also, alot of people come and then realise that we push everywhere, make sure you can keep up the pace :P

Easiest way to learn is to do......if you have a small hill, go slide it, practice sliding to a stop, or get your footbraking technique down-pat. Or, find someone who lives near you and hit them up for a skate...and learn, ask questions.....

ASRA Admin Comment by Bugs on July 31, 2011 at 17:59: You don't need to slide to go to Bomb Squad, but if you can't slide you do need to be able to footbrake.

Wrist guards will do if footbraking, but gloves are still better.

Comment by Timothy Shu on July 31, 2011 at 15:47: Gloves are 100% necessary, because you're going to need them for everything. If you cant slide yet, you'll need them to protect your hands when you fall.

Minimum gear is Helmet and Gloves. Secondary gear is a skateboard.
